Honest, constructive, and kind commentary is what is expected. The airline can't fix problems if no one points out how they can improve. Don't change a thing!! 🤗

I really enjoy your reviews. They are honest as well as entertaining. It was nice of you to recognize the good job they did in dealing with entitled acting passengers. “Deal with it” LOL. The meals looked good. It’s nice that they don’t charge for snacks. I like it when you point out shortcomings of the plane and ground service. Advanced warning of the inadequate busing was good to be made aware of. Thank you

I'm shocked by two things in this video. 1. They bought an old Cathay plane. I just assumed all the middle eastern airlines always bought shiny new planes. 2. Bus gates in Doha, or any other really hot place seems like a really bad idea. I live in Vegas which is easily as hot as Doha and even jetways can be very hot. You were on a night flight but imagine waiting on the tarmac to go up a flight of stairs when it's 50°C outside and you've got the sun on you. No thank you. Great video! X

Ok, this is kinda crazy but the place you went for breakfast, Veda, used to be Cafe O, and was a favourite of me and my husband back in the 2000s. I can't believe that's where you ended up having breakfast! Scott

No employee standby would go and "self upgrade" to a cabin they did not get a seat in and challenge the crew. Speaking from the POV of a UA employee standby PAX, that would probably go against the airline's policies on standby travel. If this IS the case, then shame on them. I accept whatever seat I am awarded based on my seniority because it is a privilege and not a right.
@JaydenWongКүн бұрын
I certainly hope they weren't. I said so because they looked like a group of FA friends travelling together (bag tags, weren't seated together etc.)

Actually it's really common in DOH to get onboard or disembark outport in Doha, maybe simply not enough boarding bridge there. In view of the very hot temperature (36 degree in summer midnight), I think DOH really needs a major expansion to avoid outport boarding in future. BTW, I personally prefer this old CX cabin rather than QR's own one. It's just more comfortable. And QR's kid's kit is colourful and joyful.

Nice review! I have been on this flight in the past, and it was actually quite a tiring experience with all the transfer and terribly long bus rides. Agree with the jet lag issue...I tried adjusting to the HK timezone but failed miserably and ended up sleeping the whole way 😂 As for the meals, the main definitely looks more appetising than what we got back then (we had three options but they were quite unappetising compared to the options you got). The first meal (breakfast) is now cut & replaced by a sandwich starting from the winter 2024 schedule though. Lucky you skipped the dessert since they tend to be terrible (overly sweet - just like how desserts are in the Middle East) Also, the mocktails on QR are amazing! I managed to try all of them & found the apple one to be the best.

Another great trip report/vlog JW! Ah, the dreaded bus gate, not my favourite gate, last time in Sydney, it was 35 degrees! Air New Zealand also operates an ex Cathay Pacific 773ER, which they normally fly Sydney/Auckland/Houston! JW seemed annoyed, don't see that often hehe but I don't blame you, ignorant passengers! Yeah, love the sound of 777 GE engines! Wow, you nearly forgot the coat hook🤣 Agreed, always time for bubbles on board! You don't like mango, wow you're definitely not Filipino haha. Those PE seats are so familiar from my last HKG-BOS leg in late 2019, even the actual seat numbers. It was below par back then and an embarrassment now for Qatar. We had done SYD-HKG on A359 and the 773 felt like such a downgrade. The soft product was the CX highlight and it looks the same here on QR.

As someone who flies Qatar frequently and enjoys desserts, Ive noticed Qatar simply using the same base pudding and changing only the flavor, ie chocolate, mango, passion fruit, etc, etc. Been going on like this for more than a decade. Maybe time for a freshening up.

Actually it was quite funny cos, although I know you edit in voice overs after the event, you still managed to sound pissed off in the early part of the video. Hot cabin attendant 😜. I know your advice about jetlag is correct, but my method is to sleep whenever the opportunity presents itself - and eat the rest of the time. I never seem to get jet lag.

Oh my god... until today I found it absurd that Doha Hamad is the world's best airport, where I think it's nowhere near the best. I would agree if Singapore or Dubai are named the world best airport, Doha airport simply has a terrible management and yes, there's no point of the priority boarding, find it annoying that you have to wait for a long time. I thought things get better onboard but those ignorant passengers are simply a big embarrassment and I can really tell how annoyed you are 😅. But at least the crew are able to dealt with it and the onboard service just makes it better. I couldn't imagine having breakfast at approx. 4:00 a.m., it's kinda too early and the lunch being served 3hrs before landing to adjust with the HKG time is actually quite smart, since everyone may have jet lag, therefore the service flow is actually good. But overall, I feel like QR needs to learn better, and for Doha airport, what a joke. For a world-class airport and airline, it's subpar. Thank you for the trip report, Jayden, can't wait for ur Emirates' ADL-DXB
@JaydenWongКүн бұрын
haha exactly, everyone has jetlag already, just wake everyone up 3 hrs before landing for the lunch service 🤣 The only thing I appreciate about DOH is that there's no gate security, but other than that, Changi is a more pleasant airport.

Don’t feel shy to express dissatisfaction, Jayden. Social media is so widespread and “powerful” now, if enough people bang the same drum about a company, there’s a good chance it will reach someone high up there who can enforce any necessary changes. Your tone during your note about Hamad airport boarding process was perfectly good, it was nothing compared to the absolute hell you see in comments sections of online media about airlines and air travel. Keep being honest with your feelings and feedback, just don’t turn into one of those attention-seeking nobheads with the most clickbait of titles (ahem Josh Cahill ahem) and we will appreciate it.

I think the constructive feedback is warranted about the 40 minute boarding bungle and don’t see it as complaining or rude. Constructive feedback is just part and parcel of what has to be accepted when offering services. I hope you also provided the feedback to the airline- especially letting them know that you missed out on a shower because of it. You’re paying for their services so you’re allowed to have an opinion on your experiences. Nice to see some footage of your city too. Milk! Milk! 🥛 Egg! 🥚
