People love him or hate him. He has the best fleet, the most sought after destinations, the very best business class, a best in class premium lounge facility at Doha, and a service that is second to none. He speaks honestly and tells it like it is. I've heard that when the sales teams at Airbus and Boeing have planned meetings with him, they practise for weeks 😅

However, I think it's time for Riyadh Air to take the lead. I've been following Riyadh Air's progress closely, and I'm impressed with what they've been able to achieve in a short amount of time. The demand for first class has dwindled in the world over the last three decades, that's why most airlines are now have Business and economy classes in their airplanes. Some airlines has chosen to put very few First class seats in their aircrafts.

Well done AAB --- A good interview, and he didn't sidestep one of the questions from that slightly 'amateur' interviewer. I agree with other comments here. QR are THE best certainly in the Middle East, Hamid Int'l Airport is sublime, and also as stated here below by others, QR cabin crew are the very best. Qatar Airways is a truly 5* airline in the air, AND on the ground. However, I have two gripes with them, the first is they 'sold out' their route Doha-Helsinki allowing Finnair to take over the route completely. Sorry, but Finnair, are not even on the same planet as QR, let alone being in the same field - awful, awful service. As I use this route at least 4 times per year, I now fly via other cities such as LHR, Oslo or Munich and connect to/from Helsinki with a change of flight, as this is much preferable to 7 hours with Finnair. The second is that due to the pandemic, their service to Dubai DWC ceased, and I would love for them to return to this route.

What a joke. Qatar airways laid off 25% of its workforce, including 1200 pilots. In addition, took from 30 to 70% of wages as an act of solidarity and to protect jobs. I may add, that this was for expats only, locals were exempt. So to talk about governments compensating companies to keep staff on board…. Look at your own garden first, before you tend the gardens of others.
