my buffer is stuck in degrees with ⚠️ next to it , how do i fix that

The layer you are buffering has a CRS in GCS probably EPSG:4326. Export this layer to a new layer using a projected CRS (you will need to choose a suitable CRS depending on where you study area is) in meters. Run the buffer again on the new layer.
