Great interview! Andrew is such an impressive player in our area, continuously improving upon performances from set 1 until now. 3x finals in 3 straight weeks is just insane!

Well my choices were either move to a different part of the country, or level up so I could keep pace with you in events 😄 Glad we each got wins in back-to-back weeks.

Qi'ra Tarkintown is an interesting spin that I've been trying out, Fifth Brother, Death Watch Loyalist, and Krrsantan synergise really well with Qi'ra's ability. The loss of ramp and OB hurts, but it's puts out a lot more damage.

One of our locals actually made Top 8 multiple times with Qi’ra TT in set 2. Looks fun.

Andrew is a great dude and played well in the finals against me at the WV PQ. Happy he got the win and the worlds bye. Well deserved.

That was a great match. It was a lot of fun hanging out and chatting with you throughout the day. My opponent in the semis started playing Jango that week because of your performance the prior week. It was really cool to see him feel excited and probably surreal sitting next to you in top cut, haha. We both know the difference between getting to the finals and winning it is razor thin and some luck. Back-to-back finals is impressive, and you're definitely winning one soon!

Your run with Jango has been amazing!

Great Interview. Dont you think timely could be an MVP in that list? The possible Walker ambush in late or a second gunship ambush?
@andrewstrauch40687 сағат бұрын
That is a good question. I have seen other Qi'ra lists run it. I did try it at the start of set 2 specifically for Walker, like you mentioned. I think it's fine. The issue is more what do you cut from the list since there are so many good cards. Give it a try though!
@piano85566 сағат бұрын
@andrewstrauch4068 yeah the only thing you could really cut is one Lom or one gunship but they seem to be one of your favorits and i get why. Gunship is needed for jango more than timeley but without juggernaughts i think that timley into walker could be the closer vs a lot of decks

It’s a decent choice, I just haven’t felt like it’s completely needed.

Great interview! Both of you had a great discussion. I'm a bit confused about the Lom Pyke interaction with Ambush. Its an "On Attack" ability correct? How can it put a shield after the attack?
@SW_Oddball7 сағат бұрын
I think I get it now. You ambush him in, he gets a shield, put a shield on something else. Takes no damage. Then you Qi'ra him with your leader ability and flip Qi'ra. Thank you for the education haha.
@andrewstrauch40687 сағат бұрын
@@SW_Oddball You got it. With Lom Pyke's "On Attack" trigger, you can choose it during any attack. Since Ambushing counts as attacking a unit, you can choose to use it there or not. When there are multiple units on the board, you can choose any enemy friendly, and any friendly unit. He can choose himself, like you said. Or in your example- you could choose someone else, let Lom take damage, and if he has 3 or more health, still use Qi'ra ability on him to shield, deploy her, and he's still full health.
