峠 SABOTAGED! Crashed into roadblock on Touge Run / Canyon Road

My opinion is that some local got fed up with either touge runners or bikers so he decided to put this trap to discourage them from running this road. Seen a few videos of others putting similar traps like wires between trees to injure/kill dirtbikers Anyways, glad that you guys got away with only damage to the car

Ive seen stuff like that too. My neighborhood has a big dirt bike community in it, we have trails at the top and bottoms of the mountain range. New neighbor moved in, got fed up with the bikers, and set a wire trap around a blind corner on the main trail. Didnt hurt anyone bcuz one of the bikers found it. They found out who it was, and continuously let the air out of her tires for a few months before she apologized lmao

How my integra got destroyed. Although I don't think it was malicious. Rallying a gravel road. Think a log fell off a truck. I hit it and dam near flipped the car. Bent the frame, smashed the oil pan into the crank. Rod shot thru the block and the splash of oil on the header started a small fire.

I discovered you channel recently and I really like your videos! But I always wondered about those canyon runs, isn't the risk too big that a car comes from the other side ? Or do you have people calling in if there's cars coming from the opposite direction?

Running these types of roads there's typically no spotters or anything for a oncoming car since you can usually see the cars headlights before they make it to the corner. Even dim headlights are pretty visible if you know where to look. It's also why if you've seen people doing runs during the day they keep it to one lane since there's no way to tell what's around the corner where as at night you can double lane since you can see more ironically.

im going to be honest- if you're running the touge and something happens that is repairable running insurance is the wrong thing to do. When we run the touge all of the drivers have to acknowledge and accept the fact that things are going to happen. If people really expect to try to sue one another or go through insurance on the mountain pass they're not allowed to run with us or anybody else. It is the wrong thing to do

As Jake mentioned, but also to recognize whether the car you're taking is something you can afford to have shit happen to, repair (high increase on wear and tear), and possibly lose. The highest form of risk is your own life, so be considerate of your own skills and capabilities more so than the car...even if your car can handle more than you, that doesn't mean you should push it to that limit. If you're going to do this, just understand the risks involved and don't try to be a hero.
