I just watched "The Green Planet: Tropical Worlds" on PBS and was blown away. The credit scene Bio about you and your work, narrated by none other than Sir David Attenborough (AMAZING), is what brought me here. You must be applauded, and I look forward to viewing your videos and learning more about your craft. Thanks for contributing to some of the most important subject matter on Earth, which happens to be the Planet Earth. 👏🦖 Simply inspiring!!

Really awesome looking printer! I've got the X-plus and have loved it so far. Print lots with carbon fiber nylon!
@BiolapseStudios2 жыл бұрын
Would love to chat with you on that. I have not had the printer long and have been printing structural petg parts non stop, made a quick attempt at nylon and couldn't get bed adhesion but did not have the time to dig into it, and had to move on with other work, but really need to get nylon figured soon for a cinema bot I am building

hey i just wanted to ask if you would buy the x-plus again or upgreade to the x-cf pro or even the i fast but i plan on getting anothe 3d printer and im thinking about getting the x-max for nylon/cf parts and a flsun for pla (maybe petg)(or is it faster to buy the i fast) but my prusa mini does petg all day long. so im mostly looking to increase production number (although i dont sell anything currently 🤣)

I just bought the i-fast and can't wait to get it. THANKS SOOO MUCH for your video here. Especially the setup for the spools. I'm gonna follow your lead on that. Are you still liking the printer now?

Yeah. At the moment I do.. thenfiest month it ran like a dream. Then I ran into a lot of really frustrating problems for about 2 months and had to replace mobo 3x, screen, ribbon cable, and a sensor, but as of now it has been working fairly well. I wouldn't mind getting a 2nd one.

on the wifi issue, my duet powered machines HATE 5ghz, you basically have to run a dedicated ssid on 2.4 and connect them to that

Hello, I purchased an i-fast a few months ago and I recently decided to purchase some new nozzles for the low temp extruders but they don't fit into the heat block threads. They're too big. My 7mm wrench that fits the original nozzles is too small to fit the new ones that I bought (MK10 Nozzle for 3D Printer, 18 Pcs M7 Brass Extruder Head Hotend Nozzles 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm fit 1.75mm Filament). Can you please tell me what size/type I should have purchased? I can't find any definitive answer online. Thank you.

what type of hairspray are you using? we have an issue with builds sticking to the plate and would like to try it. thanks for the informative vid
@MrButuz2 жыл бұрын
I know you don't want to be told this but the issue you have with not being able to peel PLA off the standard build sheet is a really simple fix - that the nozzle is too close to the bed. If you get the nozzle the exact correct height you should be abler to pop/peel PLA off with no issue. If you are printing ABS or other materals must not use the white texture side use the dark smooth side with some glue stick or hair spray. This works great on my QIDIs. If you want to ignore this bit of advice - fine - but if you don't fix the nozzle being too close to the bed - your functional parts will not be accurate and you might even get a bit of an elephants foot which when printing parts that fit together may mean they don't fit together! I hope you understand but if not feel free to tell me to F off like you did the other people trying to help ;) :p

Uhhhhh I am so confused. Generally I'm pretty well known for not claiming to know everything, and would never tell people to F off because they are trying to help. That was the second time using the printer and the first time using that sort of bed. On my other printers use glass beds and pretty much all I have done is print PLA. Good news though is I have spent some time with the printer and learned a bit more, from watching other videos and engaging either folks on QIDI user groups online. So far I've managed to get quite a few parts done in PET G that worked out great! Including an inner bearing system for a rotational element on a mini cinema camera robot I am working on. That one took nearly an entire spool and is about the size of a thick new York cheesecake. Nylon took a little experimentation but I managed to get a nice large 6 inch diameter ring gear printed and the mating spur. Things have generally been going good. I have another full spool sized part I am trying to print in PetG. But the darn nozzle clogged and I had to restart. So wish me luck on that one. Anyway I would certainly never tell you to F off because you comment and offered some advice. Rather thank you for your suggestions. Have a great day!

@MrButuz ahhh gotcha. Yeah , no I don't mean to say I am not interested in discussion amd suggestions, I just don't mind using hairspray or guesting. I've seen some folks on some 3D printing groups that can just be pretty crappy to others about using such techniques. I know for a lot of people this is a hobby and they spend more time tweaking than printing, and that's totally cool, i get the idea of tweaking and playing for the search of perfection. I just need to be able to print the parts I need. I'm printing brackets not building a piano. ;)

I should do an update video. Like any 3d printer it can be frustrating. At thw.moment I fully recommend it, but there were some pains with bad motherboard, screen, etc. Once all that got worked out it's a workhorse.

Don't understand ... the high temperature head is in stoke? You got one dual head and another one single high temperature in the box, when buy the printer???
@chrisfield7008 Жыл бұрын
Not anymore. It changed. Now you get one high temp dual extruder, and a low temp dual extruder. They no longer have the single ruby tipped one.

Have you been able to test speed settings? I am curious if it can get a decent quality with certain materials while running 75-100mm/s?
@BiolapseStudios2 жыл бұрын
Not yet. I had to get up and running asap for a production run on some parts. I'm just now experimenting with other materials like Nylon and Polycarb. Once I have that stuff dialed in I'll start making some comparisons on print quality with speed. I've heard good things though. If this current print with the nylon works I'll bump the speed up. But stock settings gave nylon at 40mm/s
@DreamwoodRings2 жыл бұрын
@@BiolapseStudios very nice. I am waiting on mine now and hopefully will get it within the month. The metal printing with sintering though expensive, have you looked into machining price vs printing price on anything?
@BiolapseStudios2 жыл бұрын
The metal stuff is just craY expensive. About 500 per follow of basf 316. I have a Taig Cnc mill that I can use if o need metal parts. So I'm gonna stick either Nylon, Petg, etc. I want to try polycarbonate soon too. I just reran a small test piece of nylon which defaults to 40mm /s and kicked it to 80/s. The two parts look identical. I would need a larger test but so far it looks like it can handle speeds fine

Hello Which slicer do you work with have you adopted or changed the standard settings of qidi Best regards from Germany

So far I have really just only used the stock settings on the QIDI for a quick part production run. I do plan to start playing with the settings soon to see if I can get better performance

Hi there ,how you resolve the line that appears in every print (Z seam Position) that is set on user specified and in standard qidi slicer in on the front right set ? And second was nicer to get the ruby nozzle when i get the package not to mail them ,but from the good reviews i hope they will send it to me.
@BiolapseStudios2 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry I just saw that. In the Qidi slicer there is a way to randomize the z action so the seam is broken up. I think you can also try to align it in corners. So far I haven't messed with that. My understanding is all you have to show proof of purchase, and they ship it to you!
