QLC+ with 3D Visualizer Intro

Thanks for making this video. It looks like you were able to get this configuration to work. It gives me hope that I can try it again. I tried it in 2019 and could never get the two pieces of software to communicate. I also had a really hard time designing and laying out the fixtures in the 3D modeling space. So up until now I've just been using the QLC+ built-in 2D visualizer. It's effective at seeing the lighting component. But it would be really nice to see the light beams (+ movement) inside a 3D space with atmosphere.

Hello I did a bit of research on Magic 3D Easy View so here is what I found. You can download a working version of Magic 3 D Easy View Here: Download Magic 3D EasyView by Nicolaudie-Sunlite (informer.com) A couple of notes: When I was installing this my antivirus software flagged it for unknown files and I had to click “allow” in order for it to install. It looks like a false positive since I have had no virus issues when running the software. I would recommend restarting your computer after install. Make sure you have QLC+ set to output ArtNet Universe 1 with the address of your computer if you are running both programs on the same computer. For example mine is set to output Universe 1 ArtNet 10.0.0.25 Make sure you select ArtNet when starting Magic 3D EasyView and set up your universes. If it doesn’t work the first time, close the software and reboot the program. Some people are having trouble accessing the artnet. I found this info on the QLC+ Blog: I struggled quite some time on getting the Art-Net to work on ALL my computers. On some it did work right away, on other: no luck. What seemed to be the problem: multiple network interfaces! When I disabled my VMWare virtual network interfaces (and therefore had a system with just one network interface), I was able to use Art-Net in Magic 3D Easy View. So: make sure your computer has only one (enabled) network interface, and you should be able to use Art-Net. I would make sure that you uninstall the current version of the program before installing this version. The program will say DEMO but most features will function without limits. The Full version of the program is no longer available. Ed Richards

@@edwardrichards7722 Thank you for this description! I managed to get local loop running bu turning off all the unneeded network interfaces (the only ones left are LAN and Bluetooth). It's worth saying that gray "Art-Net" button in Easy View needs to be clicked (it's not disabled!) and it should show four universes in a moment.

Hi! I'm on windows 11. I'm not able to activate artnet buttons on 3d easy view. All artnet is disabled whatever configuration I do on qlc+. I can't understand where is the problem. Do you have suggestions? Thanks

Hi Marco First find the network address of the computer you are using for example mine is 10.0.0.23 In QLC+ go to inputs and outputs page and you should see that address next to one of the art net choices. Put a check in the output box Click on that same art net device to highlight it (in light blue) then click on the wrench/screwdriver icon lower right of the screen A popup box will appear with this info outputs: "the network address of your computer" universe 1 IP Address: 10.0.0.255 Artnet universe: 0 Transmission Mode: Full Click OK Now start up 3D Easy View When it begins to load a menu box will appear that is labeled "universes patch" There should be a green check mark in the Art-Net box. If not, click the Art-Net box and it will be selected. Click OK If this box is not appearing at startup do this: In 3D Easy view click on "Universes Patch" Make sure the "Auto-Selection" and Show this dialog at startup" boxes are checked. Also click on Art-Net to put a green check mark there click OK Close 3D Easy view and restart it/ All should be working now. Make sure when using 3D Easy View you select "User Mode" from the menu to see the lights. They won't come on in construction mode. Ed Richards

I'm using ArtNetominator to monitor the outcoming signal from QLC+, and I can see it. ArtNet button on Easyview still not selectable.... mumble mumble... I keep trying

Hello Again Apparently some versions of Magic 3D are locked so no Art Net Email me at [e-mail] so I can get you to the correct version. Ed Richards

Hey there! I had the same problem as you and I realized that 3d easy view won't allow Artnet if you have more than one Network on your device. That means that if you have a VPN or something like that you need to deactivate it before using the program.

Hello There is a way to create custom fixtures but it is quite involved. I will have to create a video for that. Meanwhile.... If you let me know the make and model of your fixture, I will create a custom definition for you. It would also be helpful if you could send me a pdf of the manual or take a picture of the manual page which shows the DMX addresses for the various channels. I can't find that patch manager window inside of capture. I don't even have that top tool bar with all the buttons that you have. someone pls help:) lighting noob here trying to become a lighting expert haha
