Great content! In gaming Xeon will be more stable because of the much higher PSP(4 vs 2 channels) and more amount of cores. Well even avg FPS is higher. The only advantage of QNCT based PC is a newer platform. That means, once high end LGA-1151 CPUs will become cheaper you can upgrade your system.

Good job! I never tryied this mutant processor/interposer. One advantage of Xeon is that's kind of plug and play... On the other hand Mutant comes with integrated graphics (that really doesn't matters if you're using a GPU). Both are the cheaper ways to build fast PC's nowadays. Many Gigabyte motherboards allow flashing modded BIOS using the Gigabyte Flashing utility, I have tested Gigabyte Z170-HD3P and B365 Aorus Elite, in both cases I flashed modded BIOS using the native utility, but some of my subscribers report that it didn't work for them with the same B365 motherboard, thus I assume, in some BIOS revision, Gigabyte introduced integrity check.

@@Miyconst thanks! And no, I couldn't find out... but I don't understand much about it, even so, I studied the subject a little, watched some videos and decided to take a risk... I re-recorded the BIOS a few times, first with the BIOS soldered, then with the BIOS off the motherboard (both with the vendor file and the one I created), I just remember that I tested it without the memories and the speaker beeped 3 times (as expected), but with the memory installed, it just stayed on, no video, no boot signal, I could have done other tests, but my soldering skills aren't that good, so I talked to a youtuber friend and I left it with him, who later passed on to a partner technician, and even so, they didn't solve the problem... In my local market for that price I only find GTX 1050 TI which surely won't be enough. @@TeamTemplo all recommended CPUs will do the job just fine. For streaming and video rendering you just use your GPU, yes, the quality will be insignificantly worse, but I really doubt that any of your viewers will be able to spot the difference. If you can't fit i5-10400F + B560 + 16 GB DDR4-3000 (or higher) RAM into the $400 budget, then go for i3-10100F it equals to the i7s from the past and it will do the job just fine for you. From my experience I would not recommend anyone buy QL2X unless the price is good or you really need single core performance. In games like BF2042 it really struggles and bottlenecks my 980ti. I would not recommend pairing it with a GPU stronger than 1060/1070/1650S/1660S or RX 480/580/590/V56 at 1080p. It is also nearly impossible to cool overclocked without liquid metal. Perhaps to due to die imperfections as it is a ES or because the die is offset causing uneven pressure. Without liquid metal I got 4.4ghz before i started thermal throttling and with I hit 4.6ghz which is the limit of my silicon(both OC achieved on direct die with custom loop). At 4.6ghz i got 992cb in r15 and 2415cb in r20.
@Miyconst
@Miyconst 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info. I have got somehow different experience with QL2X. With Noctua NH-D15 I was able to easily keep it cool at 4.5 GHz and regular thermal paste. Also, I don't think QNCT would perform better in BF2042.
@dalzy25
@dalzy25 2 жыл бұрын
@@Miyconst Perhaps it has something to do with noctua's mounting system. The problem with 2042 is the weather effects and 128 player. Once those start FPS tanks and the game becomes extremely CPU bottlenecked. For other games a 1070 tier GPU is a perfect pair. I reason I will not recommend is going forward games will be using more threads due to the consoles and 4c/8t will not be enough.
@Miyconst
@Miyconst 2 жыл бұрын
@@dalzy25 it seems like you didn't watch my last give away stream where I was touching this subject. Games do not require certain number of cores / threads, games demand a CPU with certain computational capabilities. 4 fast cores are always going to be better than 6 slow if the raw computational performance is the same.
