QOA Gimlet - Elegance Refined!!

Hey Tony, I took a chance and purchased the QoA Gimlet. I’ve had them for a couple of weeks now and have become quite fond of them. A very unusual but safe tuning that just works for everything I listen to. I am impressed. I really miss your graphs with commentary at the end. Thank you for your excellent comparisons. It really helps. I dig the Gimlet slightly over the C3. Different strokes for different folks as they say.

Nice Review. Mine is on the way and seeing you have positive review on the gimlet makes me happy that it will be good, well I am sure that it will be good. It is cheaper here at 45 dollars same price as the C3 and this seals me the deal knowing that it is a collab iem by hi fri.

Got this set a few days ago and love it. It's one of the few sets I can listen with for a very long time without getting fatigued. At the moment I actually prefer this to the KATO in longer listening sessions and I also think it's better than the Zero:red. (Not saying this is better than the KATO, but the KATO has a bit more treble which for me in certain scanarios is a bit too harsh).

@@akros9333 Recently got into IEMs and this set is my clear favourite for the money. (Bought Hola/Chu a few months ago, then Zero:red at launch and KATO just afterwards and now the Gimlet based on this review..). I have used headphones for decades and I have little collection (DT770, Phillips XR2HR, Sennheiser Momentus, Grado SR80, etc..) and I'm surprised how much audio you get for the money with IEMs. I actually ordered a set of P1 Max today as they are below 100 usd and every review I've seen says they were killer value at 160usd.

The c3 I find that the drums are a bit to thin in tone for me. I like nore thick like a mest drum timbre. The qa.... mmm. Maybe I should get just for fun

Well it's not an easy one ...but TinHifi T2 DLC is a solid option. Olina SE has been as low as 85....check that out. Also the HeartMirror Pro is viable if you get the correct tip......wide bore but deep fit

Hi fri said QoA sends the sample products to him and if he is satisfied, he will gives his blessing to produce the product. Its like what hbb do to qkz so its basically a collab

I’m confused here. Can you really say that it’s a sidegrade if it has the same tuning? That’s contradictory.

I apologize if I didn't explain myself in a clearer manner , but the reality is it's difficult to actually position the Gimlet and Topaz.....they have similar tuning , but I consider them sidegrade to eachother and not one beating the other outright. The best way I can describe it they are all chocolate with just different percentages of Cacao.....75%...85%.....95%
