Seotaiji and the boys were basically K-pop before anyone knew what K-pop was. Seotaiji was actually a kind of revolutionary in Korean music and it was reflected in his lyrics, clothes he wore and dancing on stage. When he started in the 90s, most singers appealed to an older audience and he was the first to write texts that spoke to the younger generation. His texts also criticized various issues in Korea and at that time there was censorship in Korea on texts written by artists. One of his songs that was banned because of its text, he decided to record in one of his albums only in instrumental form and this led to a huge protest in which thousands of young people demonstrated, which eventually led to the repeal of the law in 1995 (if I remember correctly). In this show, the king invited BTS to perform with him and it seemed like he was crowning his successors. A legend. Thank you for this reaction. 💜💜💜

Sao is probably the father of KPOP and yes BTS calls him Abeoji (father) mind you the man is now 50 years old, he started his career when half of BTS is not yet born. In this concert, the legend meets the future legends, He must be proud of where BTS is right now.

This is part of the 25th anniversary of Seo Taiji & boys... in the past they promised their fans they'll do it! Seo Taiji is maybe the first idol... (I'm not totally sure). He was the maknae of the group (like JK is). I suggest you watch the whole concert, it's awesome!!!

Yeassse yeassse finally a reaction to a piece of this masterpiece concert. Seo Taiji and his band were the founders if midern kpop 30 years ago. They desbanded but Seo Taiji promised to have a comeback in 25 years. Tjis concert is called 25th Time Traveller. And BTS were the special guests. Seo Taiji is a legend in Korea. The three members of the boy band, Seo Taiji, Yang Hyun-suk and Lee Juno, experimented with many different genres of popular Western music. Seo Taiji and Boys was highly successful and is credited with changing the South Korean music industry by pioneering the use of rap in Korean popular music and utilizing social critique, despite pressure from ethics and censorship committees. Yang Hyun-suk, after the group disbanded, he founded and became the Executive producer & Chairman of YG Entertainment, one of the biggest record companies in South Korea.

Here is the BTS version of this with Jin singing the falsetto notes in the beginning. This was part of the fourth Muster in 2018. Would have loved to see this live, so epic, so hilarious as well.
