This is hands down their best album. Every song is amazing and for this to be the last song to tie the album up is just flawless.

I agree, in my experience with some friends this album was overlooked. I bought it anyway and one of my fav all time albums front to back.

Hands down ? I love your emotions for this album. It's been in my cd player for many days/nights straight. It's so trippy and hypnotic.. I've had this debate with myself countless times. Name a band with more killer albums. They only had 1 clunker, Villians. At the end of the day, IMO the 1st one is still atop the mountain. Regular John, Mexicola.... Now, here's the real debate: Lullabies or Rated R ? I've gone back and forth so many times. I love them both. I really can't decide. So, those are my top 3. And then I put Like Clockwork in 4th. And I love it so. This song makes me cry every time I hear it. Makes me think of my 1st love of 30 years ago that I still think of everyday and is married now. And, dare I say Songs for the Deaf in 5th place ? Yup, I said it. And I love that one too. Anyway, it's a great debate. And that's how I rank my top 5 QOTSA albums

Dude I say this all the time. This is definitely my favorite record they have made. I think that it is flawless

@@meatazzsandwich dude, I thought the same thing about Villians when it came out. I didn’t even bother buying it till late last year, just for “The way you used to do”. A couple of months ago on a whim, I put it on in my workshop just on a repeat while I built a bass guitar. By the time I finished that bass I gotta say, Villians might just be some of their finest work! Is it different? Absolutely, but it’s a fantastic album.

Everyone it seems Has somewhere to go And the faster the world spins The shorter the lights will glow And I'm swimming in the night Chasing down the moon The deeper in the water The more I long for you Most of what you see my dear is purely for show Because not everything that goes around, comes back around you know Holding on too long is just a fear of letting go Because not everything that goes around, comes back around you know One thing that is clear it's all down hill from here My love in your hand cleverly disguised All the promises of stone, crumble in the light Most of what you see my dear Is worth letting go Because not everything that goes around, comes back around you know Holding on too long is just A fear of want to show Because not everything that goes around, comes back around you know Not everything that goes around, comes back around you know One thing that is clear It's all down hill from here

Its hard to put to words what art means. You have to see it. Its like a dual reality, virtual in essence. To me, its as simple as the sea. As hard as the harshest hardship. Eternal in my mind. Eternal as the abyss in the sea. Art is deep, its etched through time, as a man. As only I can. I must say, this song is deep as any thing abysmal and artisanal I have ever seen. And to me, its rings of a song, the way it should be. Full of emotion full of the sea, that I see. Something you can only imagine with the right touch. Something called our time. And time is of the essence, before you know it, you evanescence... And that is what clockwork truly means, to the right eye, and even better when it comes from the right arm. ;)
