Josh has a *beautiful* voice. I went to see QoSA a decade or so ago and he literally blew me away. After I got home, I described him to my mom as someone who should be in a choir and for good reason. This guy can actually sing. He can hit whatever the eff note you want. I was surprised. Wowed.

Both nights sold out in like a minute. Gonna be great. Yeah they play big venues, festivals, good for them. That’s cash money, this is their career and they’re having fun. I think a lot of you forget that this is the music business and it’s definitely a business. Again, no band wants to be crammed in a shit can van to play for 5 die hards...But guess what, no matter what show I go to small or big... there’s still gonna be shitheads there. Gah, you want the old queens? Then dust off a record. This whole albumb pays hommeage to the music that came before so queens could stand on shoulders to be what they were and are. Loving this rebirth of rock n roll. The deaf can't even hear it.

My issue is not that it isn't old queens, my issue is that much of the album is just filler. It doesn't need to be SFTD, that album had three singers, but it flowed extremely well. The new album just doesn't do that, it doesn't flow and it seems like they were just padding shit out for the sake of lengthening the album.

This is so beautiful. I've always wanted to own a QoTSA t-shirt! Sounds strange but I really want one. I'm from way back with Feel Good Hit of the Summer. Came out when I was at uni early 2000. Blown away ever since. I saw them perform live on TV on some show and I really wanted to see them live for myself. Its now 2023, I stopped listening for a bit but in between, a lady came into a shop I was working in with a lime green t-shirt with QoTSA on it and she didn't even know who they were! I told her I wanted the t-shirt and she said she'd come back and give it to me. She never did lol. Some woman is walking around with a QoTSA t-shirt thinking SHE is the queen from the stone age 😆

My favorite QOTSA records ranked: #1 Rated R #2 Self-titled debut #3 Songs for the Deaf #4 ...Like Clockwork #5 Era Vulgaris #6 Villians #7 Lullabies to Paralyze Thing is though, the order of this list often alternates. Therein lies to beauty of the Queens catalog: it's hard to compare records because they are all different in some notable way. For instance, I've probably refered to the self-titled debut as my all-time favorite many a time, but I realize that's mostly because I've given it more listens than all the other albums combined. It's replayability doesn't make it their best work, obviously. Upon closer examination, I always have to choose Rated R as their greatest, plainly and simply because it's an almost perfect listening experience from front to back. As for Villians, well... While I could never in good conscience, on any given day, rank it any higher than, say, Era Vulgaris, this is still not to say I can't to some degree love Villians as much as anything else they've done. It might take every hundredth listen or so for it to finally click and start to make sense and sound somewhat awesome lol; that doesn't necessarily make it inferior to classics like Songs for the Deaf. It just takes more intrigue than that kind of record, because it's a different kind of record with a different kind of mood. Any diehard, long time fan ought to be thankful for this. If QOTSA still sounded like Rated R and Songs for the Deaf in 2017... well then, that would kind of goes against the Queens idiom, wouldn't it? If I want something that sounds like the old stuff, if I want lineups that include Dave Grohl, if I need berserker odes to meth and teenage girls with Nick Oliveri on vocals, then that's what the back catalog is there for... Personally, each record effects a different part of the soul and psyche. In that way, you could almost say I love all QOTSA records equally, to the point that ranking them genuinely pains me.

@@Elena-er7zp He drove her away with his years upon years of drink & drug abuse. I used to really like his music, but these lyrics just sound like the selfish & self-obsessed moanings of an addict who doesn't want to people to leave him but also doesn't want to change. He has ruined a lot of relationships with his addictions. During his youth (wrapped up on a whirlwind of fame etc) it might have been more forgiveable, but as a father in his 40s he should have taken more responsibility. Even when he has been violent towards others, there has been very little sense of empathy or personal responsibility. He produced some really good music in the past, but the reality is his life is almost as past its prime as the past stars that he's trying to parody. Elvis screwed up his health & relationships through his addictions & excesses and became wrapped up in a self obsessed little bubble, and look at Homme? Doing the exact same IRL. He won't quite abusing alchohol/drugs for bandmates, for his health, for his wife or his children. Its not cool to watch, just sad (and yes, I do believe his creativity & sound has suffered for it- the music is not as good as it used to be and the band has lost a lot of its coolness).
