Scott R I think that’s fairly harmful though. The bands that seem to progress the best seem to have decades of experience with the same lineup like Converge, Mastodon and Tool. However my fav album is self titled and second fav is ...Like Clockwork so I guess they’re doing just fine lol.

@@MAtogable Idk, I just like him because he's consistent but with good energy. Nothing crazy, plays the songs like they sound on the album, and they sound good there. Grohl is obviously a great drummer and laid down some great stuff on Songs for the Deaf. Castillo guy was too much and Theodore is just not the right fit sound-wise. But I just like how Trautmann plays everything with the right energy, doesn't take the spotlight. Good base for a great rockband imo, Alfredo Hernandez similarly. If I have to just look at the live performances Trautmann is the most steady without losing the energy (I don't like Theodore's energy).

@@faramund9865 is not just performance but songwriting. Remember Gene wrote the drums for Songs for the Deaf, Grohl just recorded them. But I feel you, what Gene and Freddo have in common is "the Swing", they play like musicians, not drummers and were part of the band, the rest are just sesion drummers and you can tell in the last 3 records

What a show ! and they seem to have soooo much fun "I Think I Lost My Headache" is really a bizarre rock song, kinda reminds me of "Paranoid Android" from almost the same period of time (late '90s - early 20' alt rock), it's so angular and unsettling, but also very obvious and sraightforwrad .. and you have to be one of a dirty mind to come up with such chords !
