The only E-tuning song was "Hanging Tree", which meant Troy's Red Gibson ES-135 wasn't used. At the beginning of "Headache" (Josh used his black Ovation GP), Josh's guitar tech placed his sunburst Ovation GP (used for Tension Head, Go With the Flow and Avon) in front of his amps ready to be used for "No One Knows". When "FGHOTS" finished (Josh used his black Ovation GP), at 53:19, Nick can be seen saying something whilst giving a hand signal, and then loosens his high string on his 2002 Fender PB Black, which meant Nick had to swap to his 2002 Fender PB White for the last song "No One Knows", and when the song started, Josh's guitar tech took the sunburst Ovation GP away.

I was at all 3 east coast Australian big day out festivals in 2003 and both QOTSA Syd/Melb side shows that year. This was a top notch era, bar the drumming pushing way too fast (drummer of 31yrs here). Grohl on the drums W Nick and Lanagan not long before these shows, was a one off peak for this band IMO and worth travelling to the states from Aus to see. I actually think Grohl played their last show with them in Japan at Fuji festival, just before they headed to NZ and onto Aus for the Big Day Out tour. Foo fighters headlined BDO 03. Grohl was there and could have got behind the kit at least for a cameo appearance. Yet another brownie points losing moment for me against Dave, but I'm also just stoked that he drummed for them, even on an album. Let alone live. Stoked to have seen them with every single line-up I'm aware of over the years. I lost count at 15 QOTSA gigs over 15yrs ago and hope to see 15 more. Although I'm not as excited as old times, I look forward to seeing them headline a show i never expected in the world famous surf town of Torquay Victoria Australia next Feb (near the infamous bell's beach and great ocean road). Seeing their recent 2023 live gigs and knowing they're playing for 2hrs in Torquay, means there's going to be a great catalogue to choose from. I've only seen God Is In The Radio live once and there was only one live electric and an unplugged version on YT for years until recently. They're way tighter with the past decade line up, but this one was unbeatable and fueled by so much more young blood stamina, angst and half a pharmacy of medicines.

Yeah, just listening to the opening track ‘Regular John’, I can tell a big difference in the sound vs the recording that was originally released by whoever & posted up on here or wherever for all of us to hear. It’s still not the greatest quality by far BUT definitely good enough to be able to listen to thruout from beginning to end. Original posted recording was just too quiet & very aggravating to try & deal with. Very happy that this was remastered or whatever was done to it so fans could actually enjoy jamming to it. Was disappointed with shows like this that were just phenomenal with awesome setlists, kickass performances from each member of band giving it their all & in the end, fans like us who were unfortunate in not having the chance to be there & experience it live so we then just have to accept gtng to watch/listen to it on either/both audio and/or video & what do we get...? Great video w/such poor audio quality!! How bad that sucks espcly with shows like this! Thank God for whoever it is/was that makes it right after all this time & brings such greater quality for us all to be able to fully enjoy & appreciate this kickass show!

Hey there, E Wyss... I mean really??!!!! Just don’t get any/all you JC haters! Constantly comparing him to Grohl thruout comments for older QOTSA shows & do the same w/him & JT on the message board for 2013 and on up thruout the more recent shows to present date. Idk what the hell any/all of you are smokin’, drinking, snortin’, shootin... but I mean damn! The guy is an awesome drummer and was just that thruout his entire stint of playing w/the QOTSA boys! Still to this day, I have not only have Nick’s, Troy’s & Lanegan’s setlists they each had used for a private show they did for just radio show VIP contest winners which ended up being idk... maybe 100 fans at the most in the small upstairs room of Jilllian’s in Covington, KY 2003. Only QOTSA show I still know of to this day where the only thing missing was one J Homme but rest of band who played an 11 song set of just Oliveri and Lanegan on who always sang vocals for those trks. ANYWAY... yeah JC also gave me his drumstick he splintered and almost broke in two during SFTDead drum solo he friggin’ hammered on in middle of song. Point I’m gtng to anyhow (too late, I know) is that it might influence a tad on him being fav drummer of QOTSA’s history but even if that didn’t take place I’d still vote him as my favorite, no question about it!
@ewyss92065 жыл бұрын
@@DT24K thanks for taking the time to make a strong point. I'm not saying Grohl was better, all I'm saying is that musically - in my opinion which counts just for me! - he is the weakest musician on stage here. He has no 'feel' or 'groove' he is mechanical and yet strangely sloppy; it might have something to do with the mix as well, mind...!
