I will never understand people that needs hundreds of watts... This is a great example of radio mastering. Thank you!

Thomas, you do you, I love your videos and the format is refreshing. 👍

And I thought I was doing well with my 5 watts and a whip - you’ve shamed me into trying this now! 😜

Awesome. Your videos are helping me get deeper into learning CW. Somehow, my lady is actually interested, too. Thank you. 🤙🏾 I dig the accidental activations, too, brother.

Thanks Thomas, I enjoy your videos. It was the troubles in NC that led me to ham radio studies, and then total surprise, cw. Been studying cw at the same time, couple of weeks but I was able to pick up pieces of the incoming message. I seem to be attracted to minimal setups, low wattage, so your setup, albeit expensive, fits the bill. Thanks again. Good luck NC rebuilding. Bill from western canada

You gotta mix it up a little to keep it interesting. I enjoy your real time, real life coffee making along with the activation videos.

I tried 1W activation, I did it, it was amazing, I even suspected that there was a problem with the 705 power regulation😅

Again, a great performance, and an amazing pile up with QRPP. Did you consider to greet with 71, instead of 72 to indicate this?

That feeling when you generate a pileup at 500 mW

I almost almost heard you well enough to hunt while mobile in the school pick up line 😆

Would like to know where to find the STL file for the 3D-printed Bipod. Very cool. Thanks Thomas.

I loved the video Thomas. I've been playing with my QMX lately, but it's time to dial down my KX2 and hunt some POTA... this time up near Bogus Basin. Its cold, and snowy up on the mountain, but the comfort of my Jeep makes deployment bearable. Question... have you ever activated inside your vehicle? That'd be a twist... 72 de W7UDT ID sk ee

I see you have counterpoise on KX2, but no radials on the AX1. Do you use them on the AX1 when you do SSB?

If you are doing low power and cw, why don’t you use your KH1 more often? Not accusing, genuinely curious why you pick this up and walk out the door instead of the KH1

I enjoy "shaking up" my activations and I try not to use the same setup each time. That's why I picked up the KX2/AX1. That and one of my goals here was to see if 0.5 watts was actually workable (turns out, it was). The KH1 only has a low (2W) and high (5W) power setting--it's not incremental like the KX2 is. Your timing is impeccable, though, as only a couple minutes ago I posted a new video using the KH1. :)

@ Haha, that’s great. Thanks for the quick reply. I just purchased a KH1 and I am doing my post purchase research to justify my impulse buy from cyber Monday lol. Ive never done cw but I hike mountains a lot and figured this was the perfect way to force me to learn. Wish me luck!
