been using a $100 pair of studio monitors for the last 6yrs and just ordered a CP8 for jamming in my room and backyard gigs. Been doing way more research than I needed to, when really anything will be a HUGE upgrade over what I currently have. Considering budget and my personal uses, this should do the trick. Can also get a second one and a sub down the line if I really feel I need (want) to lol can't wait to hear my guitar through an actually good speaker, I'll update this comment in a few days when I get it

@@zZoundsMusic bought it from zZounds too, as well as my AM-7 :p got the CP8 today, and it's perfect for what I need it to do. Only issue is the quiet hum/hiss when turned on, is there a way to remedy that? Listening to this vid with headphones, and I'm not hearing the mic in front of either speaker picking up any static/hum/hiss. Using a Focusrite 2i2, and I used a 1/4" to 1/4" TRS cable to connect them. Am I missing something? It's not too bad, just kind of annoying hearing it even at super low volumes.

@@zZoundsMusic Getting a hum/hiss sound when I have the speakers on, other than that I'm stoked with it. I think the issue is cable related, using a 1'4" TS cable makes it happen, when I unplug the 1/4" it stops and there's no discernible hiss/hum even with the speaker at max volume. Using the wireless TRS guitar system I have to connect the CP8 and focusrite fixes the issue. Ordered an actual TRS cable and logic says that will fix it. Other than that, holy shit this thing is insane haha all my plugin presets sounded a bit different, but better, especially my stereo chorus effect. Idk how to describe the sound, but like oscillating and fading in and out? It's literally the exact sound I was going for when trying to emulate Aaron Marshall's live tone as of late, stereo chorus on distorted guitars is just 🤌. I also started to push the dB a bit and it got extremely uncomfortably loud around maybe 40-45%, but the sound was crystal clear. It COMPLETELY blows my CR5 Mackies out of the water, they could get pretty loud but they'd lose a lot of sound clarity and I'd risk blowing them lol

Here is the important question. Checking in from the future. Do you still use them in 2022?....Sounds great.

Wow Cory, those sound great over my computer speakers, so I can only imagine how sweet they sound in a live setting. Thanks for the detailed review of what's possible with this fine equipment.

I'm using QSC CP12s with my Strymon Iridium and I can verify it sounds awesome in person. Going straight from Iridium into CP12s sounds good, but I think a bit better through a mixer.

Plugging my sm58 directly into the mic channel sounds dark with no presence at all. Must use a mixer.

I am definetly considering this setup right now, how do you like it? Still satisfied? Would an EQ pedal be a good compromise instead of a mixer? big thanks! :)

I have a single CP8 I use for keyboard in my office. I am wondering how much the TouchMix is coloring this tone...? Mainly wondering if it would still sound good if I went directly into the speaker.

I love zzounds. Ok ya. I spend wayyyyy too much money on your site because I can just make payments. But it’s fine because I literally have every piece of gear I could ever want mostly 3 years $9000 later. And it’s all good. Thank you Zzounds

Great video. For a guitarist besides volume would there be much advantage to go with the K8.2 over the CP8?

Ive been using a pair of CP12s for monitors in my studio :)

I was wondering about this. How’s that going for you? I was thinking 8s
@officialWWM3 жыл бұрын
@Mike Lewis I would prefer the 8s. The 12s are very powerful and sometimes I feel like I cant get far enough away from them, lol. I have a pair of 8s as well but they are being used with my PA. I actually think they would be excellent studio monitors.

Hi! Great Vid! Could I use the Strymon directly on the CP8?
@zZoundsMusic2 жыл бұрын
You can run the Styrmon directly into the CP8s and use the amp/cab simulation output to emulate amp tones.

I'm really considering the same, thinking about the cp12, it seems to be great with guitar but how is it with a bass?
