LOL, Qt needs to chill! Just kidding, I love it. As a vegan I really appreciate Maya taking the moment to show how difficult it often is to just order straight off the menu. It’s super fun to be with a bunch of people, especially family, realizing that you can’t order anything off the menu and now have to attempt to negotiate your “meal” with the server. I’ve had to eat a side of steamed vegetables as my “dinner” a few times, occasionally the server actually makes the salads and they can just not put stuff like cheese in it. Heh. There’s a vegan restaurant in St. Pete, Fla., (The Cider Press Cafe,) that makes their own ice cream! It’s very good. 10/10, recommend if in the good part of Fla. Another place in St. Pete area [Gulfport] is Golden Dinosaurs. Also, in L.A., the ice cream at Vegan Hooligans always looks amazing-caveat, I’ve never actually been myself, just seen it and hear it’s good. 🙏🏼

@@Xalynn9221 i think Maya's said before that she only eats meat if she can trace the direct source, to make sure that the animals were treated well. I'm assuming fishes are an exception because they presumambly come straight from the ocean, so there arent unethical farms for them.

@@Xalynn9221 -- I didn't see salmon, but I've heard her say she is "trying" to be vegetarian, I've also heard her say what Harris Butt said in a comment below, and I've heard her say something along the lines of "I only really eat meat..." vegetarians and vegans do not exploit fish or sea life, so a vegetarian is also not going to eat salmon, (or fish in general.) However, pescatarians are down with that. I am absolutely not going to give her crap for the wavering position on it or the flexibility, (flexitarian is also apparently a thing,) because I know I have been there and I think everyone who goes vegan has a phase where they are trying to hold to certain principles of animal rights but are also trying to navigate convenience, ease of access, friends and family, etc. You are absolutely going to get people who never take a second to think about where their food comes from or how it is made asking you questions like, "are you going to make us go to an all-salad restaurant now that you're vegan?" or "Are you going to get mad if I order a steak, or what?" and it's really easy for people to give up because of it since these are often people who are supposed to be friends and you want to keep your friends and keep your relationships on good terms. There's a lot of making exceptions because you don't want to piss someone off or feel like your being a bother: I don't want to feel like I am bumming everyone else out so I will make an exception, "I'll only eat chicken" or "I will only eat fish." I literally did that myself, mostly between 17 and 21 years of age. It does suck, and partly because while you're trying to do something you think is morally good while trying to not upset people you care about you are also inadvertently opening up shots for your worst, debate-bro type of friends to start taking shots. You also get exhausted by it all and end up at times going, "screw it I just need to eat something and there's a restaurant right there." I've been successfully vegan for the past 10 years but it hasn't always been the case.
