I don't think I've ever worked in a store where the mentality wasn't "If the customer wants to pay for it, everything is for sale". When they first came out with those cardboard cutouts of police to discourage shoplifting, the store manager sold it to a customer on the first day for twice what it cost the store to buy it. We sold shelves and shelf buckets all the time!
