½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
½ cup salted butter softened
1 cup light brown sugar packed
⅓ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon red liquid food coloring or red gel food coloring
1 cup buttermilk
CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
½ cup salted butter softened
8 oz packages cream cheese softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 Tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Hmm As someone who’s figured out how to bake stuff without egg, this feels like it could be chaotic follow along. Also just now that I can, experiment with tolerances. Some store bought stuff is fine, homemade is iffy. Idea / Note to self: bake along stream until it gets to a point where I have to go chaotically off the recipe to try get it to work. That was the point of this comment. Purely note to self
