I passed my numeracy first time this morning! I've been stressing so much and it's been keeping me up all night for weeks! Honestly don't think I would have passed without your videos! Thanks again and keep up the amazing work!

Thanks for this. I really struggled with the test first time round, not because I didn't know how to do it, but because the countdown made me panic and get stuff muddled. Honestly I think half the battle is trying not to waste any time looking at the clock and screaming internally. This was helpful.

These videos with the timer are brill! getting the answer isn't hard... its getting it in the fastest way possible. All the other instructors videos show you how to get to the solution but it takes them 5mins or more :-s

I am eternally grateful for all of these videos. I passed my test on Monday 😃Thank you so so so so much for these helpful videos they explain things in detail and are easy to understand (even the nightmare questions). I have been avoiding the maths for ages but I bit the bullet and hey presto. For those who are going to do the test I would say make sure you are getting more than 60% on the practise (Andy will help you 🙄 ) and you will be fine. During my test i was asked lots of bar and pie chart questions and I had to subtract decimals rather than multiply or divide. Good Luck 👍🙄

I've been revising for what seems like an eternity. Had my 2nd attempt today and failed by 5 marks but completely ran out of time on the calculator section, which I found even more difficult than the mental arthritic section. Can't believe it, feel totally gutted, not to mention drained! Any advice as to what I can do next? Also do , do 1-1 private tutoring by any chance? Need all the help I can get right about now. :-(

Thankyou! been revising for QTS since September 2012 (it is now May 2013) and test this week! Like you said..I did not get results over night and to be honest it is all my own pressure as I can do the maths! Question 11) was the pain for me! don't know what I was doing haha but you've explained it for me! Pleased the say the others I finished working out before you :P bearing in mind your writing on a screen not a piece of paper! haha Thank you

Thanks so much your videos are brilliant! I just passed my numeracy test. Just to make people aware, in the questions that came up there were lots of very large figures (i.e 10's of 1000's- referring to national exam results rather than class or school level) which I hadn't come across in practice so it threw me a bit. Also lots on cumulative frequency in calculator paper.

Thank you for uploading these videos. The practice tests are very poor at giving feedback on questions you have answered incorrectly. Thankfully with the use of your videos I can analyse the questions I am getting wrong and learn better ways for calculating the answers within the time limit. I have my test booked for 3 days time so wish me luck.

Does anyone now if you are allowed to write out your workings on a piece of paper when doing this mental arithmetic test?
@ganumerical191411 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes you are provided with a slightly larger than A4 sized piece of laminated card to use for the test. Best to ask for 2 or 3 in advance before you begin as you can't rub out workings.
@noachjonathan10 жыл бұрын
Failed my first test by 7 marks. Really worried about the next one. Is there any way you could do a video purely on quick methods?
@ganumerical191410 жыл бұрын
Hi, sure we have loads of practice tests with worked solutions focusing on the short cut methods on our e-learning site, including practice tests just on money questions and conversion questions (km to miles, euros to pounds, etc...). To access it click the first link above.
@ganumerical191411 жыл бұрын
Best of luck Kimberly, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours! Let us know the good news when you pass.

Why cannot we wipe out our writings of the boards? Is it a white plastic board? Do you mean we are not allowed to rub off or we cannot do it because "erasers" are not provided?
@ganumerical191411 жыл бұрын
Hi, it's very annoying but students are only provided a double sided laminated piece of card to use for workings which does not erase if you try rubbing anything out. Best advice is to ask them for 2 or 3 cards before you start.
@ganumerical191411 жыл бұрын
Fingers crossed! Quick is the important part with this silly exam. Good luck.

Hi. I have taken the Numeracy test twice and failed. The first by 2 marks and the second by 3 marks. When I keep practicing with all practice materials including yours I am getting almost all right. I don't understand why I am failing. I am not a lover of maths but I do get the level of maths they are asking for. I am now petrified to take the test again as this may mean i'm out for 2 yrs if I fail again. I don't know whether to wait or get back in there as i'm not sure what else to revise. Also my nerves are really getting to me the longer I wait. Please help:-(
@ganumerical191411 жыл бұрын
Hi Ali, for many students dealing with nerves is the biggest issue with this test. Practicing the short cut methods, especially for the mental section, in test conditions will help, so if possible try to find a place with no distractions to focus on this. Unless you have been given a deadline within which to pass I would not rush in to taking the test again. Take heart in knowing that you are nearly there!
@shoutxiao54595 жыл бұрын
Omg, how do these test can actually be beneficial to the pure maths? It 's just some conversions and tricks. No geometric question or equations. It feels like an English listening test in IELTS. Come on, who designed these questions?
@DavidSmith-vv4iw6 жыл бұрын
What I like the most about these videos is that the narrator is just as disgusted with this horrendous test as the watching participants are. All those who have passed with never forget this disgusting means of evaluating the worthiness of a human having an ability to teach.
