本作品は、国立映画アーカイブ所蔵の震災関連映画を紹介するWEBサイト「関東大震災映像デジタルアーカイブ」kantodaishinsa... （制作：国立映画アーカイブ、国立情報学研究所）で公開している『關東大震大火實況』（1923年）の弁士説明版です。
かつて使用されていた本作の説明台本を基に、弁士の山城秀之さんが新たに台本を作成し、本年5月14日に国立映画アーカイブにて行った活弁伴奏音楽付き上映を記録したものです。

The website ‘Films of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923’, launched by the National Film Archive of Japan and the National Institute of Informatics in September 2021, has been updated with another film, "Live Reports on the Great Kanto Earthquake and Fire" [benshi narration version].
This version records a live performance of Hideyuki Yamashiro, a benshi narrator who revised this film's once-used script for narration, on the occasion of the public screening with musical accompaniment at the National Film Archive of Japan on May 14, 2022.
