I won the race and got the dragon too, I came back to the game after a year so it was an easy win, but after hatching it by using 14 gems, i sent it to empowerment to make it more stronger, i wasn't aware that it locks the dragon, now for 2 days I just have to wait, i really wanted to play with it before new year.. I should've been more aware about these mechanics, but atleast I got it ig...🙃

Got HCT as my first HVIP, I'm F2P Lap 20 at Marathon and spent at least 50ish+ Gems and just returned to the game on May this year. Probably gonna take him to max Empower since, even though he's a Time primary, he's still a Titan/Vampire combination, that's the only reason why HCT is my most fav. HVIP, setting aside the most recent ones. Lastly, he works well with BGV so yeah.

He means empowering the dragon to 2 or 3 stars (empowering once costs 120 orbs, e2 is 200 orbs, e3 is 320 orbs)

Returning player here, and I must say your advice of not giving up early on was very helpful. First half of the race, my opponent was playing consistently and about 3 laps ahead of me. They somehow slowed down mid race so I was able to catch up with about 60-70+ gems spent. I won at lap 27 with my opponent at 24 😭😭

Just dont put down any decorations and upgrade them with tokens. There's no singular method you can use, just upgrade them as much as you can with tokens
