Jason, I don’t use DI’s or interfaces mainly due to a neck issue since my 20’s. It’s not going to get better. PC’s bother it. I miss out on all the plug in stuff on the pc and I’m just plugged into return fx of an amp and using a real guitar cab. I don’t really get the side chaining but I do want to try the compressor at the end. I still love my amps. It took a long time to deserve them and afford them. So I want to enjoy them. Soon I’m worried there will be no more repair guys. But I do have the quad. My thing is I play along to songs and it feels like it doesn’t mix in like an amp. I can’t get it to fit in so I am not using it as much. I’ve tried lowering the beginning and end of the eq curve but nope. Actually, I have two plug ins that sound a bit better. Anyway, like I said I didn’t even have tube amps til maybe the last ten yrs and recently got another. Anyway, just putting that out there. I see you got some new guitars. Very nice. Thx Jason. PS my wife’s Canadian. :) ps does side chaining work if I’m using the quad treat I am. Just amp return input and guitar cab? See your playing mixes in with your backing track.

Cool. I was wondering how that would work. I use sidechaining a lot in mixing. It's used a little different there.

There was a significant difference in the tone. I liked the Side-Chaining a lot, as it opened up the sound, made it wider, clearer, and easier to hear and more "alive". I don't have a QC. Is Side-Chaining or something similar available on the HX Stomp?

Isn't this the same as putting the compressor in at the beginning? If not, please explain the difference🙏

With the compressor at the end and side chaining with the DI as the key, the DI signal is *triggering* the compressor, I.e telling the compressor to do its job. But, because the compressor is at the end of the chain, it is compressing the fully processed signal, not the DI. If you put the compressor at the beginning, it would only compress the DI signal.
