Everything about this game is an absolute mastery. They nailed the darkness from the evil to the graphics. Even the sounds remind you of how evil everything around you is. And the soundtrack! I just love this game!

I've always wondered what the guy who recorded the demos played with. It's not keyboard controls and it doesn't look like a mouse either. Looks like a gamepad of some sort? When he turns around it almost looks like some sort of acceleration too

The way he needs to "center" the view after looking up and down does seem like an gamepad, but it could be also an mouse with acceleration due to the movement being floaty and not more pinpoint like an joystick, John Romero recorded the first three demos btw
