"oohmm... uummm... ehmm.. uuh", "i don't know what else to say" - yeah, such a nice "review". it is so clear you put a lot of effort and time into writing script for it and doing proper analysis of the game. also, nice editing, those real-time clicks through random videos are amazing, so much dynamic. good job.

Long time Quake fan here I only started playing 1 month ago and I LOVE it! I haven’t gamed like this in years I guess I got to start the game in a much better state. It even inspired me to start my own channel and make my own videos. Love the channel by the way!

that's a really interesting point about the streamers giving up on the game too fast. I wasn't around for that. it just sucks arena fps is such an amazing genre with so much to offer and its totally slept on while it seems like only tactical fps get popular. nothing against those games I just wish arena would come back into style so to speak.

Long time Quake fan. Became an adult by the time Champions released and so I joined late. Love the game but the wait times play in Oceania can be over an hour.

Sad to hear you're no longer gonna be covering QC. But I can't blame you, there is absolutely nothing in the game that promotes viable content creation outside of streaming duels.

Well hopefully not long until we hear about the next Quake

Quake requires specialized movement skills that take years to develop. In 1999, Quake was more or less the best game multiplayer available, so players devoted time to learn the movement skills. Modern mainstream gamers just want a plug and play WASD experience in which their existing skillset transfers from game to game. There is actually no impetus for them to go down the rabbit hole to learn Quake.

Very accurate assessment.

Ironicly, Quake Champions got me in to the Single Player lore and what the Ranger character actually was. Bethesda released it in Early Access too early, made it F2P too late and the development towards the final release was too long.

the reason for time duel not so good for specs is because of the s word qpl rules to hide the brokenness of the game i mean we didn’t even had the best thing in hero character or fighting games in the league "mirror matches" if they would had just used modified fighting game rules it could had bean so much better and don’t get me started on public lobby’s getting force feed this bull s word match making down our throat cant even have public games with just 3 or 5 players the entire story of qc is deny gamers options and features how where normal in previous games or would make the game better like turning off gun models adding ping filter to ranked or add premium accounts no custom maps no public lobby’s just think how much begging was needed to get time limit duel we dint even had champion specific tournaments and on top the game engine sucks the game is cheated and smurft to death anti cheat (what works maybe 2 hours after every update) makes the game unstable and crashing a lot game developer probably sell game and engine secrets to cheat coders (good chance they are the same people) cheat devs now advertising there hacks straight in youtube right in the open so this game is ffffff------------t

I really wish I can get into QC, there are 2 reasons why I can't: 1. the performance sucks 2. you can't play the game offline

the game is over pretty much, few days ago Cypher confirmed on his stream that even QPL will be now limited, both in terms of prize money and amount of events if I understood correctly.

I've been wanting to address this for quite a while now.. Quake Champions is a good game for Quake Vets but quite a stretch for modern gamers. They did a terrible job with re-introducing the genre to modern gamers.. For someone who never played an Arena Shooter before, where in the tutorials are they expected to learn strafe jumping? I picked that up in Quake 2.. but not because the game told me so.. but from others doing it, so I had to adapt myself. Another issue I have is with some aspects of the community.. besides good people like this channel, some just flat out look down at modern gamers.. calling them impatient, Battle Royale babies with no taste in games... Well the reality is.. if you want more people to play Quake, you'd have to reach out to new gamers and not look down at them. Rocketjump made a video a while back, saying that we have to be "ambassadors" for the genre... because lets face it.. vets here are getting old.. and soon we'll need new blood to play Quake. Best we can hope for now is a Doom 2016 treatment for the Quake genre. Only then, maybe... we'd have more people delving into the game more.

Quake Live was kinda revolutionary when it first released because it ran as a browser extension and was 100% free... in trade for custom mods and maps unfortunately.
@Wobbothe3rd3 жыл бұрын
There are mods in QL for a while now, lots of servers running custom mods.

Interessting video but the quality is bad... needs 1080p.. Edit: On topic... I agree they should do more teammodes. I think they should have done Capture the Flag as their competetive mode because it's the best gamemode for Champion gameplay... Each Champion can take a different role in that gamemode. That's why it's the best. I like time limit duel aswell but I think they should change it to best of three.. So you have to pick and ban champions and maps. I agree they needed to do more marketing and better battle passes.. More content and more polish!

The reason its dead to me is the lack of mods. If Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II and Quake III had no mods, no one would still be playing it. But the mods, TC such as Navi seals, TF, DDay, Urban Terror, etc are what made these games popular after it normal shelf life. Hell, even Open Arena, it has Rat mod. If they embrace Quake as it is, no battle pass, a non abilities/movements/health differences game mode and mods (even allow TC on a modern game, can we believe how amazing it would be) would make this game a new classic. But ID don't care for it, it's not even a ID software game, it's a 2nd party dev who made QC. Shame.

First it was the loadout update years ago that pushed me away from quake live, then doom 2016 multiplayer that went with tacked on halo and call of duty style gameplay which I would rather just play halo or call of duty instead, and then the final straw for me was A new quake game that was done with Overwatch styled abilities, which again id rather play Overwatch instead! I tried to like this game but after 80 or so hours logged on from steam, I couldn’t go on with arena shooters anymore. and then finally last year diabotical flopped on release because of a. Epic games launcher and b. Epic is home of Fortnite and c. No marketing and hardly any streams for the game where we could have a community or even players in there too! Not just that but arena shooters have very steep competition with the big top multiplayer games that everyone plays currently and are also e-sport ready as well and mind you, those games are also very difficult in their own ways where even joe shmoes can get in the fun as well and not be alienated immediately bc they’re new. Im looking forward for halo infinite- which isn’t a full-blood arena shooter, which is also fine. It’s been a good try but without marketing and players around, it’s a no go for AFPS games
