I never related the two, but I suppose the Vore's homing-projectile game mechanic predecessor was Doom 2's Revenant.

Thanks for putting your UDOB 3 run in a video, it's always been one of my favourites. The exit actually needs 3 keys in a normal playthrough, not two - there's a set of horizontal bars in addition to the vertical ones. I once made a map for sm213 - Low Gravity that requires a vore boost at the start in order to get out of a pit, which of course can be abused for speedrunning. Low gravity is its own entire category of cool custom map speedruns, now that I think of it.
