Picked up a cheap one myself, slowly getting it all running sweet again. Not a clue what I’m doing but watching your vids is a huge help. Just had the pull cord go, so that’s tomorrows job. Still not 100% sure if the carb needs to be adjusted not quite starting as I’d like. But I’ll get there

@@themowerman honestly I just replaced it, just unsure if it needs setting up 🤷♂️ l live in rural France so it’s a case of working stuff out especially on cylinders as most ( nearly all ) rotary or sit on. But I’m loving getting out of my comfort zone and very satisfying getting stuff ( 2 chainsaws, a hedger & 2 strimmers ) back from non functional via KZbin

Hi good fix, I don't tend to fix these as I find I can usually break them for Spares and make a decent amount back. But saying that I did buy one cheap last year and couldn't bring myself to break it, it sold ok. Good video👍

Hi Mick, just found your channel and subscribed. Good video! Not many home videos for these mowers actually being worked on etc! I love these mowers, have about 9 of them in the garage to work on currently! Always found the carbs to be most problematic on these machines myself. Look forward to what you've got coming up next! Cheers, Jay.

Haha the whackier the better 😂 Yes that's true, although I noticed with your carb, the needle slipped into the float, the ones I've come across before have all had wriggly pins to keep them in place and I've had nothing but dramas with them!!

Hey mick! Great vid and enjoyed the others too, while rebuilding I noticed I had a leftover spring, and for the life of me I can’t find where it goes! Its a flat spring, not like your usual spring. I know it came out of the ride height side panel, just can’t find where! Any help would be appreciated!
@themowerman5 ай бұрын
Hi.. send me an email with a photo of the spring micksmowers01@gmail.com
@danielturner13295 ай бұрын
I actually found where it went eventually… although its a spring.. it’s not really acting as one, it’s the locking pin spring beneath the cylinder on the ride height side. Took a bit of time with this face > 🤔 appreciate the reply though!

Hi Mick I've just been given the same model by a neighbor he'd not started it up this year due to illness and had bought a smaller electric one. Anyway I put in some fresh petrol and it started 1st time. So I'm well pleased. Keep up the informative videos, I've got a Hayter 41 that's due a belt change I believe you did one of those didn't you?

Hi mick love your channel. I have the same mower but 17S model and when I pull the the drive cable it makes a loud grinding noise before it gets going also the cylinder often locks up when the engine is off and try to push or pull the mower . my question is does it need the cable adjusting or perhaps belt adjusting or replacement. Any advice or opinions from anyone who knows on how to solve the problem would be really appreciated as I cannot afford to buy or service it.

Soumds like the cylinder is hitting the bed knife.. or the clutch is not locating fully.. take the top cover of and check it
