(QUALITY ISSUE??) Louis Vuitton CANVAS COMPARISON 2016 VS 2021

A good comparison would be for the same bag model. Different models could have different canvas make depends how the design of the bag needs to be folded or be pliable. For example, the graceful is made to be slouchy as its a hobo bag vs the turenne which is a semi structured bag.

I read that Louis a Vuitton changed the source of their canvas in the years after 2016. This was from a former LV sales associate.

I have Damier Ebene canvas from several years on very similar pieces. The newer DE is much thinner. The corners wear very fast on the newer bags.

I was told after LVMH purchased LV the canvas material changed. I have a Duffle bag 2014 and the material is very thick. I did a comparison and the new material is thinner. I was told by an elderly woman to only buy vintage.

Yes, I noticed the difference in the material for key cles. I had the one in 2018 and I bought another one recently so the older one feels thicker. I returned the new one as I preferred the thicker one. Thanks for sharing

You’re welcome…My Speedy 20’s canvas is also feels slouchier than my Turenne’s canvas. Maybe that’s how it is now😕

@@hippolao5137 I gotten the speedy 20 recently and I feel the thickness is much thicker than nano speedy. Probably for the price that we are paying. I still like the thickness of old LV canvas bag. Maybe it was planned to have thinner bag so that it reduces the weight to fit customer's need?🤔

The canvas monogram seems spaced differently. The canvas is very different. The last 4 years. Lv has went down hill.

@@hippolao5137 No you are absolutely correct. I looked at my vintage pieces and they are rich in color and simular. Current pieces are toned different and thin canvas. Some dry looking and some shiny.

I just just bought a LV from Phipps Plaza and I'm not impressed with the quality of the material..it even smells like fake..IDK anymore, for $3,000.00+..I'm not happy..I'm returning it..

The noise it makes .More solid bigger sound. The other is soft and hollow sounding.

i prefer the current canvas it almost feels like leather...more soft and supple.

Its less durable and will crack and pierce easier trust me.
