On ambulances... My wife got ill at home and had to call an ambulance. The visit to the emergency room cost us $120 USD. The ambulance was free. As for the speed of the trip, the roads here (Ibaraki-shi Osaka JP) are quite narrow and winding so its not prudent to speed around here. Hospitals and medical service providers are very abundant in the major cities, as is transportation.

Holy moly!!!! It’s officially cheaper to live in Tokyo than here (Honolulu). We pay $1,850 a month for rent (a 2 bedroom 750 sq ft condo).

Does that include dental in Japan? If not, is dental work very expensive in Japan?
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly not sure about where dental falls into everything for adults, but I can tell you that it's significantly cheaper than Canada. In Canada, I was spending over $100 for a a checkup/dental cleaning, whereas in Japan I want to say it's about $50.
@gordonbgraham6 жыл бұрын
I'm a full time teacher at a high school in Japan, 80% of my family's dental is covered by the insurance provided through my school.
@rockshot1006 жыл бұрын
Greg ya mean it is cheaper in Japan right? 50 for a cleaning is reasonable.
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's cheaper in Japan.

Hello Greg. Really love the shows. Can I ask what the difference between your normal show and the additional X is?
@LifeWhereImFromX6 жыл бұрын
Long story. But for practical purpose nowadays, just think of the main channel as the more polished and popular stuff and the X channel as the extra things, that may not be edited that much.

Thanks for answering my question greg! So, is it only smoking thats socially unacceptable in Japan? Are people who eat fast food accepted into society? Any other things?
@gordonbgraham6 жыл бұрын

It's not necessarily socially acceptable to toss a cigarette butt on the sidewalk/street, but it's not actively discouraged.

Definitely greater income equality then when compared to the United States
@eddenoy3216 жыл бұрын
MrWalker1000 It certainly was that way for many long years and I tend to agree with you. There are homeless camps in some big cities, but nothing like what you see in the West.
@MrWalker10006 жыл бұрын
Ed Denoy by west we are talking about the USA . Europe is fairly equal.
@eddenoy3216 жыл бұрын
MrWalker1000 Europe is a continental area, not a nation. I lived there for a few years. Maybe at one time it was fairly equal, but today it is certainly not. Which Europe are you speaking of ? Finland ?

I have a question....Do most Japanese male bosses have prejudice against Women working bec they tend to get pregnant based on your experience?
@asdf2566 жыл бұрын
Not an answer, but I feel like the declining population would be an argument against that.
@meestaShin6 жыл бұрын
Yes, although Japan is very beautiful, clean and the people are respectful, the workplace is generally very sexist. Also, Japanese do not try to ask for a starting pay rate. They are told what they are going to be getting paid and that's that. Moving up in a company is also hard to do.
@passthedutchie905 жыл бұрын
I have heard bosses state that they do not hire women because of the pregnancy risk...IN CANADA. Not in Japan...but due to these comments it seems likely due to my ignorance of the Japanese language.

Are there jobs available for foreign exchange students?
@eddenoy3216 жыл бұрын
京都アンソニ It is possible to work PT. www.tofugu.com/japan/foreign-exchange-student-jobs/. The best thing would be to ask for $20-25/hr for teaching small groups, informally. No need any visa add on permission and much easier work. So try that first.

News flash: Japan still has caste system, you cannot usually move between social classes. And btw, why equality is such an issue, life is what you make, no one has equal mental, emotional, cognitive aptitude, everyone contributes in a different way, that's what makes real diversity, equality is before the law, nothing else is equal,
@eddenoy3216 жыл бұрын

Are you saying that Japan doesn't appreciate foreigners who promote Japan? Well you are wrong. I know one British guy who had recieved an award. And then there are also foreigners who had been picked to work with local government projects, usually involving tourism.
@alandoesexist6 жыл бұрын
i didn't mean that, i mean japan didn't really need promotion anymore, japan was popular!!
@zam0236 жыл бұрын
I am sorry that I misunderstood you. If you meant popular as a tourist destination, that is only true for Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. The rest of Japan is unknown. That is why in the last 2 or 3 years Japan embark on the Cool Japan promotion. It was to promote the rural area of Japan and introduce the local goods. For example, Ehime is promoted as where the best Japanese oranges comes from. There are more but Ehime is the only one I could remember ^_^;;
