Is there a co-ed area where men and women and both congregate? If so, is there a pair of shorts and a tee shirt provided?

note; I think I remember seeing all three of these places for sale on different fudoyasan web sites. I have to wonder if Karuizawa is still the summer place to go. Just a feeling but I think that Karuizawa has outpriced itself since Covid. I had been looking for a second house for a few years and obviously Karuizawa was one of the first places I looked. Watching the various fudoyashan websites and reaching out to several fudoyasan companies and visiting Karuizawa many times over the last three years + I have seen the prices drastically increase. This also becomes apparent when you try to get a loan for a house and the banks will give you a very small percentage of the price. THe value of Karuizawa seems to be a bit overblown. Also I dont think its as cool there now as it was 10 years ago. It used to indeed be a place you could go to to escape the heat of Tokyo but now while it is indeed cooler than Tokyo it still gets pretty hot there to the point that you don't want to be outside on some days. Within the last 6 months or so I have started to see prices come down a bit for real estate in Karuizawa but there are still a lot of people giving it the old college try putting up 20 year old houses for 3 oku en. Also the american style houses are all pretty much made by the same company log resort or something like that. They usually sell their houses fully furnished. turn key type of thing. Something about them just isnt my style though....

Best way to go to the Onsen is to visit directly from your construction job while your mussels are still sore. Walk in and yell bonsai while cannon balling center Onsen. Then after all the grime loosens and adds a rich color, position yourself directly under the water fall for a cool relaxing flow of mineral water. If that doesn't make you new friends, offer to tell some really funny racially charged Japanese jokes to let them know you are now one big happy community and you fit right in. Don't forget to snap a wet towel on a behind or two back at the shower room.

Onsen is so relaxing - especially outdoor, natural hot sulfur spring. Americans take some time to get used to being naked in public but it's very natural and lovely once I got used to it. Beautiful ancient Japanese tradition.

I could be wrong but I believe that in 2011 there was no charge to give up American citizenship. Now the U.S.A. government charges an exorbitant fee--over 2,000 U.S. dollars--to renounce citizenship. Isn't that absolutely ridiculous? One good point about giving up American citizenship is that you are no longer required to file U.S. taxes. Fabulous interview here.

I'm from Hawaii and my family loves the cheap rice cookers because they're easier to clean. If you want to keep rice hot and moist for a long time the expensive rice cookers are better a keeping the cooked rice fresh. But the cheap $20 rice cookers cook faster.

I just picked up one of the new zojirushi rice cookers as our previous (super cheap generic brand) died in the last month or so. I would classify the NW-QAC10 as a mid-high range? on purpose did not get the pressure variant mostly i didn't see the point, and i wanted the flexibility being able to open without dealing with pressure? not sure why i want that yet but i imagine i thought i might add some random ingredient at the late stage (probably not in practise). super happy with the new rice cooker, comparing to the old $30 (canadian) generic, its way better (for $450 it better be...) and we don't lose any rice on the bottom end with the new one... happyyyyyyyyyyy... i'm rather surprised i never considered rice age before seeing this video, i never paid attention to that in store.. its just "rice" (jasmine, sushi, white.. etc) until now, now i have a new thing to watch out for, shin-mai / ko-mai / koko-mai.. after i learn the symbols for it

IHS rice cookers absolutely make a difference and make the rice taste better. There are also models higher than this that include pressure as well, I have not tried these yet so can't confirm if they are worth more than the IHS rice cookers. Recommended Brand (Zojorushi). Cookers: -------------- Cheap Cooker (less than $100usd)- There is no reason to buy anything but cheap rice for a cheap rice cooker, it will just ruin expensive rice. Moderate Cooker ($100-$300)- This seems to be the sweet spot, the IHS cookers are at the higher end of the "moderate" cooker, but will have a noticeable impact on your rice and it is absolutely worth getting good quality rice with this cooker. The texture will be perfect, and the flavour will be drawn out, and the Aroma will fill the air with this type of cooker. Expensive Cooker ($300+)- These will make the perfect rice, but it is unclear to me at this point if it is noticeably better than the Moderately priced rice cookers which can do an exceptional job already. The Texture, Flavour, and Aroma are all noticeably better in the Moderate and above cookers. These cookers will typically include the IHS features as well as being Pressurized cookers. Note that even though these cookers use pressure, it does not actually reduce the cooking time. I suspect the pressure is simply a way to help better control the moisture content in your rice. Rice: -------- Cheap Rice - will not be made significantly more flavourful by using a good rice cooker, it will be cooked perfectly, but you cannot fix cheap rice with an expensive cooker, it will have a better texture, but not likely a better flavour or aroma since it had neither to begin with. Expensive Rice - will be noticeably better in a good rice cooker than a bad rice cooker. Note: Don't listen to people who say the rice can be kept on warming mode for a week. While technically true, it will start to take on a metallic taste within about 48 hours. For the best results, I would not recommend keeping it in a warming state for more than 24 hours. If you have anything left at that point (usually we don't), then simply put it in the fridge like you would normally and reheat later if desired.

Japan's barrier-free movement began in earnest in the 2000s. It began not for people with disabilities, but to prepare for an aging society. If Japan's barrier-free system was for people with disabilities, it would have been in place since the last century. Although the employment rate for people with disabilities is low in Japan, the country relies on foreigners to fill the labor shortage. Japan does not value its own workers.

I am sorry, I do not mean to offend. I really liked your main channel several years ago when when the style was more like a documentary about life and living in japan, but for the past few years your channel has felt more like a travel channel show for tourists. I find my self becoming less intrested in the channel and no longer feeling like "I can't wait for the next episode to come out!" it does not feel as engaging as it once did. I really enjoyed the pices about helping the homeless, what it was like in the schools, and other episodes about integrating in to Japanese culture. You do put out a lot of effort, and crate high quality shows. you are a very skilled and talented with your video work. Please keep making and ill keep watching for another year still.
