The quality of life doc you’ve made is amazing, and I think you should finish it up and move to the next project. I think that promotes the greatest continuity and will allow the story of now to be told a bit later. The tattoo doc sounds fire and is an important story to promote, definitely do that. Peace

Quality of Life feels like a show I don’t want to see end! You knocked it out of the park with the interviews, footage, and attention to detail. I remember seeing the first part a while back and thinking it was made by a studio, and someone bootlegged to KZbin. As a fan i would love to see more, but whatever direction you take the documentaries will be fun to watch!

I also want to thank you for producing such engaging, raw material straight from the horse's mouth, sharing with us the heart of the NYC graft scene on par with Wild Style. I think you have plenty more to say about many different things. Share your talents as a filmmaker outside the realm of us graff heads. "Who's world is this? The world is yours."

I gotta say. Not only is the best graffiti doc I’ve ever seen. But it’s the most informative and interesting doc I’ve ever seen in general. I would LOVE to see a part six in another year or two. Or sooner. I need more.

yo its been amazing watching this docu series happen. it really is a gem. i think either choice ur thinking abt would def work.. but ill throw in my personal 2 cents: i think it makes sense to finish out the vision you had when u started. i agree, the moment we're in only just feels like its begun.. but i think having the perspective of what its like to be experiencing it as it happens would be really cool. ofc releasing part 5 down the road would be cool too bc u could contextualize things more fully & whatnot. but some of my favorite docus are ones that are made in the moment bc u cant quite capture what it feels to be *in* that moment the same way when you're not in it, you know? i mean idk u can ofc but its still thru the lens of looking back.. which isnt bad at all, but ya. just my take, i think whatever u decide would be cool tho. 1-4 are really special as they are already so thanks again for working so hard on them & getting them out. ps. the tat docu sounds sick as well!

Kind of late to the party, but I loved pt 5 and looking forward to anything else you'd want to share. Thought I should mention that QoL is my favorite documentary I've watched to date, and has inspired me to direct and make my own videos. Something about the grind, hard work and dedication makes me want to go do the same thing. Love how you are able to tell the story about old NYC graffiti in your own way. Great work! Pt 5 instantly made my night when I seen it uploaded.

Good job. I loved Part 5. I was more excited watching 5 than 1-4 probably bc i already know a lot of nyc graff history. But as long as you keep documenting this new era of Graff I really don’t care what you call it. (What if you kept the same title but added the year like “QOL 2023” 🤷♂️) NYC Graff is back big time and it’s important to have quality documentation
@AugustRileyMusic2 жыл бұрын
First I just want to say that the docs have been fucking amazing and you did a great job with the series. Second, is that I think you should sit on part 5 until you feel like it's time to talk about here and now, it's hard to imagine any true endpoints in this current moment so I say wait until you get something real strong. Can't wait for your future projects!!!

Honestly you ought to finish up part 5, as we approach the middle of the 2020s. Since Covid, NYC is undergoing an interesting cycle of both urban decay and gentrification. I don’t mean 70s South Bronx decay though, it’s almost more like a New York renaissance for once, rather than the sterile urban renaissance cycle of the past 40 years. Along with certain areas where the momentum of gentrification still seems strong; NYC is also regaining some of its natural urban grittiness that’s existed there since day one. Giuliani & Bloomberg we’re profiting big time, by over-sterilizing the city into a large, densely populated suburban-themed commercial landscape, to cater more to wealthy investors, urban pioneers, suburbanites & tourists. Meanwhile, native New Yorkers were largely left out of the picture. I’m not glorifying the crime & social ills of the pre-Giuliani era; I just hate how he did away with a lot of NY’s lifelong authenticity in the process. I don’t care if people disagree with me or not, but the harsh dark underbelly culture is apart of NY’s DNA. Anyways, I think that the next chapter of NY graffiti culture, is in for a very interesting future. I think you ought to sit on it for a bit & finish strong; because a whole new chapter is near. You’re a fantastic filmmaker & did a great job with this piece; I really look forward to your future work!

Just saw the newest vid, bro. My 2 cents: continue from where you left off till now. Show how the pandemic took graff back to a level we haven't seen since at least the late 90s. People bombing areas like midtown and Times Square for the first time in a long time. I like your tattoo idea also, even if it's not my sort of thing. Also, since you already did Cobblestone Wars, another idea for the future would be a continuation of the gangs of NY and the popularity of motorcycle gangs from the 70s on. Up to you though, love all of what you did and whatever you will do either way.

Thank you so much for creating these docs. Part 2 is my favourite since I'm all about vandalism and always will be. Age won't ever change that. Ever I'd finish 5 and end it where it seems fit with the footage you have + any extra footage that might be needed to tie it all together. One the thing that irks me the most is when a series isn't finished because endings / conclusions are very important regardless of what the "mainstream" might think of a project. Completing things in and of itself is a super power that extremely few people have in this day and age Rock on. Love from Sweden
