Please, someone explain why the play clock stayed at 2:38 after Witten's TD. At 1:48:52, the snap on 2 pt conversion shows play clock unchanged through that entire play.

The game clock doesn’t run during a PAT. Since it’s a PAT and not an actual play the clock stays the same.

@@josephchandler2203 I’m sorry, did the Colts win this game? No they didn’t, they lost to a Cowboys team ravaged by injuries as well. I like Peyton but when he makes mistakes that ultimately contribute to a loss, he doesn’t get a free pass because he “carried his team”

U can tell Peyton was on the decline and needed surgery and colts got hit with the old Super Bowl hangover
@AshleySmith199122 жыл бұрын
Peyton’s neck was in such bad shape that it was actually pretty dangerous for him to be playing at this point. One big hit or even just falling down in an awkward position could’ve ended in tragedy. However because the Colts were absolutely ravaged by injuries yet still in the playoff hunt, maybe Peyton felt like he needed to keep playing. We all saw what happened the following season with Indianapolis when he was out for the year. That shows how strong his competitive spirit and desire was, he was determined to carry the Colts into the playoffs and have another crack at the Super Bowl after coming up short the season prior.
@Hybridswimmer Жыл бұрын
Not really on the decline… you have to dig deeper into what happened. He lost 2 of his best receivers to injury for most of the year (Austin Collie and Dallas Clark). The games that Collie actually played showed the crazy year 2 he was having but injuries ended that. Clark had 100 catches the year before and while Tamme was alright he wasn’t the same player Clark was. Also Garçon that year was super inconsistent, while Wayne really the only good recover they had that could beat 1 on 1 consistently.

The Colts were 6-5 and the Cowboys were 3-8 going into this game. Wade Phillips was fired after Dallas got demolished by the Packers 45-7 in week 9. This was Jason Garrett’s fourth game as head coach and was 2-1. That’s what they were talking about

I know that this was America's Game Of The Week for week 13, 2010, but this contest should've been moved back to the 1:00 PM ET start time. 3-8 against 6-5? Game Of The Week my ass! Falcons (9-2 at the time) at Buccaneers (7-4 entering week 13) was THE true Game Of The Week, not outright horrible Dallas against a struggling Indianapolis squad.

The Colts were utterly decimated by injuries. Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark and Austin Collie were all sidelined, they were terrible against the run (as usual), their secondary got hit hard by injuries as well, so just about any offense could put up tons of yardage and score points against them, they had zero run game so they were incredibly one dimensional. This 2010 Colts team began and ended with Peyton Manning and even he shouldn’t have been playing, he was beat up and his neck was only getting worse yet he continued to play and essentially dragged this team to an AFC South title by himself. With pretty much any other quarterback, this Colts team would have won 4 or 5 games tops, so the fact that they went 10-6 this season was remarkable.

In all honesty, he shouldn’t have even been playing at this point. Never mind the fact that he couldn’t put his usual power on the football when throwing, his neck was in such rough shape that one bad hit or an awkward landing could’ve ended in tragedy. But that just shows the drive and competitive spirit Peyton Manning has, he was determined to pretty much single handedly carry the Colts back to the Super Bowl.
