Mind you, most of your objections are solvable in the menu... you can ajust your squelch there. My solution was putting it down to 1. Only if you need to listen to a very week station, you press button 1. Rx starts immediately...

It's possible, but not on the factory firmware. You need to flash a new firmware from Github.

Thank you for your kind comment 🙏 Any walkie-talkie can communicate with any other walkie-talkie (with few exceptions), set both on the same frequency, ideally on the amateur frequency and you're good to go. Quick question: for the alpine area between Switzerland, France and Italy, if you want to be able to call the rescue, you need to program a VHF radio for the E(mergency) chanel 161.300 MHz and also to set the 5 tons ZVEI2. Do you know if these two things are possible with the Quansheng UV-K5(8)? Thanks

To reset to factory settings: Press Menu key to enter Menu Selection. Press Up/Down Key to select Menu No., select No. 51 (Reset) and press MENU Key to confirm the selection; Press EXIT Key to return to Upper Menu. Long press EXIT key to return to main page. Bear in mind that this will restore to original factory settings. If you only deleted a channel, you can only retrieve said channel if you know the frequency. You have the option of scanning or, using a software frequency scanning on your computer and search/scan around the lost frequency, scanning on a computer gives you a visual graph making easier to spot popular or even weak frequencies. I hope this helps.

Click M button (Menu), scroll up or down until you find menu 21 named "voice", click M again to enter or confirm, you will have 3 options "Chinese, English, Off", usually if you click down one time, it will choose English, press M to confirm, it should now be in English. Jope this helps.
