It just absolutely blows my mind how bad the mat finish ruins the image like that and how people continue to think that the out of the box reference settings are what it’s supposed to look like! Like I’ve said before I would never be able to watch TV again now without your settings because now I know what a TV should look like! I can’t wait until I’m able to afford to pick up the S90D! Material possession wise I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to anything more! Having a WOLED just feels like being stuck in the past now! Thank you so much brother. Its basically an adaptive perceptual calibration based on each tvs unique attributes. That's why its nearly impossible to teach as a one size fits all. Its basically custom tv tuning, much like tuning a high-performance vehicle like a Ferrari.

If Samsung would also manufacture an S95D with a glossy screen, I have a feeling that the combination of the S95D and the Quantum TV settings could rival the S90D. I think Samsung could redeem themselves if they manufacture the S95D in a separate glossy version AND matt version, at least giving us a choice between buying a TV for use in bright surroundings or a TV for use in dark surroundings.

It’s insane how god awful the S90D looked out of the box before I played with the settings. I used your SDR settings, but it was a tad warm for my taste, but I didn’t need to modify it much (could also just be my tv not having been run enough to level out yet if that’s a thing). Either way it helped me out a lot! HDR settings coming soon??

Q, I need your advice/opinion. Last week, I ordered the s90D and then 2 days ago, I canceled the order because I learned that Samsung is selling the s90D with two panel types: a woled version and the QD version and Samsung isn’t telling you which one you are buying. So how do I know which panal I am getting? Do you know if this report is accurate/true? I can see that your S90D is QD because I can see from the video that the panal has the triangular subpixel arrangement, R,G,B but no white element. Thanks

I got the S95D because I have a lot of light coming through 2 walls ( on the side and back). I used your new settings that you put on standard and love it! The S90D would have way to much glare hence the reason I needed to change my TV. Now there is no more glare and colors come out beautifully! Thank you for your settings.

When I was shopping I definitely preferred the picture on the S95D over the S90D (77’s) but the S95D was out of my price range so S90D was what I got and have to say movie mode has given me far better picture than filmmaker. That said I’m pretty amateur at calibrating but feel I got it set up pretty good. Love the TV

Hello, I am a new subscriber to your channel. I watch your objective and beautiful comments about televisions with pleasure. I am currently actively satisfied with the Sony A95K television. Dolby Vision is bright and most of the brightness in SDR. I get great image quality in movies shot with a good camera. I have calibrated the A95K very well in motion processing and colors on film platforms. Do you think I would see a significant difference in image quality if I switched from Sony A95L Samsung S90D s95d :Sony televisions are no longer coming to our country. It has become difficult to obtain them.

The most insightful piece of information regarding an undeniable fact. I have the S90D and I did put it side by side with the sony a80L and the Samsung KILLED SONY it without even coming close. Inside of 1 minute. I ran same 4k movie side by side on both TVs. I have the s90d dialed in and it is a super impactful color bursting piece of cinematic art. I returned the Sony.

Fwiw, Samsung's filmmaker mode calibration is a joke, and has nothing to do with the industry standards. If you put it near an LG, Panasonic or Sony oled with filmmaker mode, the difference is massive.

"My way is better" is subjective as hell. There's a lot of people who like color accuracy and not overblown color. You'd be a better reviewer in general if you didn't make such black and white statements as if only you are right and everyone who thinks otherwise is wrong, especially because it's such a subjective topic to begin with.

Look at the before and after results on this channel. Pretty much everyone agrees, out of the box tvs look like trash. My way is better point blank period, than holding new tvs to 30+ year old standards. Nothing is overblown in my images. Its true to life color that transforms viewing experiences for all consumers. In life black and white exist. Somethings in this world are just better than others. My results are better than everyone else's. They make tvs look over 30yrs old. I calibrate for the here and now.
