16:20 I'm not sold on taking the admin free policy. To even possibly gain any benefit from this you'd have to fill out 3 idea groups, you don't even unlock the 3rd till tech 10 in about 1530. Then maybe you fill out the idea group in 1535-1550, in this game you took the reform in 1495 that's a solid 40-50 years it did nothing. Not to mention at least 2 of the unlocked policies would have to be in the admin category. On the other hand 10% advisor costs could've helped gain more points in all 3 categories by allowing you to afford higher tier advisors, especially when stacked with other sources of reduction such as the estate privileges. Unless I'm missing something surely the third reform is the obvious choice? Fun video anyway keep up the good work!
@Quarbit2 жыл бұрын

@jacobhatton97252 жыл бұрын
@@Quarbit You can also just wait till you complete all reforms to swap to the administrative free policy - it's pretty unlikely you have 2 admin policies before you finish the reforms - especially when playing like you were, your autonomy is gonna be essentially 0 in all full cores, so you will be gaining really fast progress, so you should finish all reforms around 1580 or so, and easily have 20 years of progress to swap your reform later.
@actualiygod67822 жыл бұрын
@@Quarbit I mean most of the time, unless I play ultrawide, I still finish the last goverment reform before the age of absolutism. There's one other easy positive opinion modifier you can get when trying to vassalise, based on the list with Ramazan- you can use Transfer Trade Power, with max opinion boost at transfer 50% trade power. Diplomatic TTP doesn't give you a casus belli if they break it, but it's free money (with the only cost being not being able to declare war on somebody transferring to you, with zero truces for breaking it), so it's usually worth it. Steer Trade is only really useful if you've got a trade-strong nation that's going off-course from your trade network.

Suggestion for making it [more] fun: Allow wars, but you may only ever take one non-core province per peace deal. Additionally, you must "fabricate a claim" IRL if you do aim to take a province. You may always return cores, release nations, dismantle the HRE and so forth. You may not militarily vassalize anyone. I assume Bohemia can tagswitch to Austria? If so, that might work. Influence+Admin for 45% DAR, papal legate for 10%, Bohemian Commonwealth for 15%, Austrian ideas for 15%, Noble integration for 5= 45+10+15+15+5=90% DAR. Would make parliament of interest to cap DAR. Up to you whether you allow the hungary+poland PUs or have to do it the hard way.
