This made my throws come out with so much more power with less effort. Great stuff.

The way I used to think about it was almost like swinging a bat in baseball. That seemed to help me really sink my hips and push off that back foot

Great way to look at it.

This is amazing advice no one on KZbin this detailed and well versed in biomechanics of throwing a football. When you step with your front foot, is it essentially the back leg initiating the initial step forward of the front foot if that makes any sense
@Performancelabofcalifornia2 жыл бұрын
It does make sense. The momentum does come from the back leg but you want to be aware of how the front foot and leg are moving so you land in a stable position..

Very useful. Tom Brady demonstrates this very well in one of your other videos.

Thanks for the video. As you push from the back leg, what powers the hip rotation? it seems like it starts turning before the front foot has hit the ground which only leaves the back leg on the ground. 1:55 "push and rotate together"
@Performancelabofcalifornia4 жыл бұрын
Luke Wile it’s the back leg that initiates it and the front leg that continues the rotation through the throw

I'm working on getting a lot of hip shoulder dissociation, do my hips need to be all the way rotated before my shoulder starts rotating?
@naveenwhat3 жыл бұрын
No, it comes in a chain. Think of making a wave in a jump rope, the movement begins where you apply force and transitions through the end. Try carrying momentum through your hip to upper body by using your block arm to swing your upper body without exaggerating it

I kinda just pivot off my leg leg rather then push does that also work?
@Performancelabofcalifornia4 жыл бұрын
Better to get a push unless you are 6'4" or taller.
