I believe the lyrical handwritten text is actually Freddie's handwriting. Which, if true, is such a lovely personal touch. He found his place in Montreux such a peaceful haven in his last years...an escape, with beauty outside to be savored.

Freddie wrote this during his final months of life. He was looking at the scenery outside his window in his home in Lake Geneva. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't released until after his death.

That is correct. "A Winters Tale" was released in December 1995. There has been a Queen song found from the recordings of when they were doing the "Miracle" album which was thought to be lost. You can hear it on You Tube. For any Queen fan you will notice that Freddie's voice sounds a bit stronger.

@@judycolella5554 yeah lol............ everywhere in the world they call this lake " geneva lake or lake of geneva " but the correct name is what i wrote ..... the fun fact is the majority of people think is the correct name .....each time i travel i say " i live in front of lac léman " and people answer to me " i dont no this lake , i know lake of geneva " but for me is a routine 🤣

Suffering from his declining health yet taking time to appreciate & show gratitude to those simple things in life! 👉 “A little this, a little that” This sounds & feels like a Christmas song to me .. 🌟⭐️💫✨❄️

I know what you mean about the end of the film, when the ads cover up the ending. This is one of my favourite pieces, just a beautiful poem set to music, it is just so good to hear everything that Freddie performed - who can mistake his voice? Just beautiful.

😄I agree w you, Hon, I hate those little end-Screens! This song was actually produced posthumously…. it was part of the music that Fred recorded in his last months when he was quite Ill. He and the rest of the band were staying in Montreux, Switzerland to get away from the hundreds of disgusting paparazzi that were camped outside Fred’s home in London. While in Montreux, Fred stayed in a little place right on the waterfront that he dubbed “the Duck House”. (Those are the images in the video of the little house by the water.) Fred wrote these lyrics about his view looking out the window of the Duck House.

That was actually Freddie’s handwriting on the video. Brian thought it would be a nice touch. Freddie wrote this song while laying in bed in between his ability to go to the recording studio. This was during the last months of his life. It was the last entire song he wrote before his death. He recorded it shortly before he died. He wasn’t in any shape to be in videos anymore. It’s a beautiful song

Yes it was his last song which he wrote on his own. He recorded the vocals and the harmonies on piano, the band turned it into a full song after his passing. I agree, that these video links sometimes annoy.

I agree. They should let the videos be completely over before showing other video options. They made the video out of several other videos from the Made in Heaven album. You know, one of those where Freddie couldn't appear anymore so they had to use what they had :( His voice was in glorious form though.
