Hetfield chopped his notes and also it was very noticeable that he had to stop shortly at times to take breaths. Adam doesn’t do that. His voice keeps flowing strongly because it’s more powerful and he has more stamina, strength, and much better breath control.

They could have had ANYBODY. George Michael fuckin killed it at the Tribute, why not ask him? Robert Plant? David Bowie? Geoff Tate? They don't seem to write anymore, so all they need is a singer for touring. I just feel like they thought they had to pick a gay guy because their fans would be pissed if they didn't.

George wouldn’t have been able to handle the Queen catalogue like Adam so easily can. He didn’t have the vocal power or versatility. The same for the others. Can you imagine them singing Killer Queen or Who Wants To Live Forever or The Show Must Go On or so, so many more. It would be laughable. They looked at many singers and chose Adam because he was the only one who easily and flawlessly handled the entire catalogue in the original key. They loved his voice, thought no one sang like him, thought he was incredible. They knew what they were doing. They chose the very best.
