@Charlie Sefton Like California, but without the palm trees, movie directors, snobbiness, forest fires, or excessive plastic surgery. Instead Texas is all about oil money, pick-up trucks (Ford F-150), gun rights, being polite, “bless your heart” type of slightly patronizing insults, barbecue, brunch, and being well connected. Boots can be worn on any occasion. Most people are moderate. Texas is extremely *diverse* and imo not racist in slightest. Some people can be rude, but that’s just bad “home training”. People don’t like high taxes or the gov. snooping around in our private affairs. Nothing good comes from it. Instead family, friends, & community are high priorities. You help your neighbor and wave when you see them. We don’t criticize religion, but church is used to network and socialize. Southern hospitality = smiling at people, saying “bless you”, holding the door, helping women with heavy things, etc. Texas = *nice* ( because *remember: people have guns* ) It’s not scary though. People dress nicely to go to basic places. You may hear your parents say “dress like you have some home training”. Here, you represent your family & people judge your bad behavior on how your parents raised you. Saying yes ma’am, no sir = being polite (no matter the age here) Yes, people say y’all. It’s used in the place of “all of you” and not much emphasis is placed on the word and it’s so common it doesn’t sound “country” or unsophisticated to use. Texas is a MASSIVE state. It’s *bigger* than the country of France. There’s beaches, it snows in the panhandle, hurricanes in the gulf, tornados in north, and it rains.It rains (where I am) majority of June. Like non-stop. It’s all temporary and most of the time the weather is mild. wealth = oil, investments, and land. Owning property is a big deal and a wise choice. For fun people *drink* at various places: happy hour, brunch, at the lake, on a boat, drink on a boat while fishing, on a rooftop, at a horse race, on a deck, at a Maverick’s game, at a Cowboy’s game (people love football & the Cowboys are king even though they KEEP losing). 6 out of 10 of the largest cities in the US are in Texas. So it’s not as “rural” as the media portrays... but if you saw someone wearing cowboy boots, listening to country, or on riding a horse on the side of a highway you wouldn’t be surprised. There’s a lot of pride in living here, because it’s the best.

Very well done. It was so respectfully done. We were able to take part in the funeral, but there was little focus on the family. So good to see how respectful of this family having to grieve in public were treated. But from what little we saw of the Queen we could see who she really is, a woman grieving with a broken heart. Because no matter how much one prepares, grief will hit you, especially when it is one so dearly loved. Thoughts go to her and the family who have lost someone so dear. And as a nation we mourn with them.

A family and even a relationship can only be strong when God is in the midst. Getting to know Prince Phillip from the time of his passing looking at the documentaries, he is a strong, proud man. This enables a surprising connection. From this, I know he would want nothing more, but, for his family to be strong together. Where that is not possible I think he would say, “Don’t worry, let us do what we got to do for the people. May he rest in perfect peace.

Being a month younger than the duke of Cambridge I found this very moving to see Peter Phillips stood in the middle as the eldest grandson flanked by William and Harry as remember there mothers funeral like yesterday and it was the duke of Edinburgh stood in the middle as the strong figure and they then flanked him as young princes.To see them grown in to fine young men regardless of the circumstances they are still brothers and think it was very befitting for the occasion.RIP Prince Phillip 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

@QUEEN ELIZABETH you’re pathetic. Most experts recognize the fact that humans have biases and that they are not unfazed by racist tendencies. Of course racism is wrong but we are all humans and we all are influenced by our own shortcomings. That’s why you can’t name one person who isn’t on some level racist. That goes for you.
@gutenbird3 жыл бұрын
@QUEEN ELIZABETH in fact you are the one normalizing racism by refusing to see it as a personal issue. You look at others as racist and yet do not recognize it as a personal problem. You certainly are ignorant on this issue if you believe on some level that you are above bias. In fact the most racist of people will deny that they have any tendencies. Those are usually people like the KKK and neoNazis who somehow think they are not racist. Do some research into this subject. You are completely clueless on what the experts are saying.
