Darin, Bohemian Rhapsody is pronounced Bo - heam - E - an Rhapsody. Other Queen songs I'd recommend are: Killer Queen, Stone Cold Crazy, You're Best Friend, , Tie Your Mother Down, We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions, Spread Your Wings, Fat Bottomed Girls, Jealousy, Bicycle Race, Don't Stop Me Now, Play the Game, Another One Bites the Dust, Crazy Thing Called Love, Uner Pressure(with David Bowie), Radio Ga Ga, I Want to Break Free, I Want it All, Innuendo, and The Show Must Go On.

My favorite live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!! Freddie is amazing here as is Brian, Roger, & John. Love Freddie’s swagger back n forth between the piano & center stage!! The roadie who hands off & grabs Freddie’s half mic stand is Peter Hince or Ratty as Freddie would call him! Think about how important that job is!! 🎼🎼🎤🫲🏻

Greetings from Hungary, Central Europe and it's Monday evening here. There are several theories about the meaning of Bohemian Rhapsody, but Freddie never explained his lyrics and especially not this one, it remains his secret forever. Freddie had 3 unfinished songs and he put them together into this masterpiece. The song was released in 1975 and went to no. 1 for 9 weeks. There are several theories about the meaning of the song, but Freddie never explained his lyrics and especially not this one, it remains his secret forever.

HI DARIN, THANK YOU for helping to cheer up my day! FYI, regarding Queen: They are the ONLY band who are FAMOUS for being BETTER LIVE. (Up until 1989; after that, they didn't perform live any more due to Freddie Mercury's health... he passed away of AIDs in 1991. As a matter of fact, Freddie passed away 10 years-to-the-day, after this Montreal concert was filmed.) ....I LOVE that you happened to decide to react to this live performance of BoRhap! There WILL be a LOT of folks, tho, who will say that you should've reacted to the official MV of this song instead, because there is a gorgeous intro - an acapella harmony - that is only in the studio version... So, I would say that you should also go ahead and react to the original official MV, also because it is credited with being the VERY FIRST music video made to be aired on television. OTHER SUGGESTIONS: "UNDER PRESSURE" LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, 1986 (This Wembley performance has the most famous/possibly best example of Freddie Mercury's back-and-forth singing that he always did w the audience; footage of it was even used at the 2012 Olympics!) "FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES BOWL, 1982 "WHITE QUEEN" LIVE AT ODEON HAMMERSMITH, 1975 "SOMEBODY TO LOVE" LIVE, either at MONTREAL, 1981 or at MILTON KEYNES BOWL, 1982

Great song choice, Darin. This song is an epilogue of a young man who’s facing his consequences of being a murderer. The lyrics explain his mentality with different emotional Demons that plague him. Freddy was a classically trained musician and composed his songs on the piano. The bit with the “Opera” feel illustrates that. My request is going to be FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS. It’s a great song by Queen, lol.

No one knows what it's about. However the most common thought is it's about Freddie himself.

This song is epic! It was made popular again after the movie Wayne’s world came out and they had it in the movie and it hit a whole new generation. Me and my kids sing this at the top of our lungs in the car sometimes! Yep I’ve raised to listen to all music and I think they are better humans for it. Lol
@janetschulman76492 жыл бұрын
Studio version was one of the first music videos if not the first where someone just doesn’t just stand there and sing. It was done because they were going to tour and didn’t have time to sing it on Top of the Pops of British TV. SEE HOW MANY FEWS IT GOT
@susanconstable21132 жыл бұрын
You are just about ready for their live aid performance! It was a benefit concert broadcast live all over the world and from different places. Queen wasn’t supposed to perform but they did. Freddie was told not to sing by his doctor due to a throat infection. He was already sick from aids at this point. It has long been considered to be the greatest live performance ever. I believe it was Elton John who said to Freddie after their performance “ thanks Freddie how is anyone supposed to follow that”

Queen is almost always better live than the studio version. That having been said, you still really must watch the video/studio version of Bohemian Rapsody. The live version has trouble reproducing the full song of Bohemian Rhapsody and the video (created in 1975) is considered the very first music video.

The fuck it is! You're gonna sit here and not credit Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii (1972)? Not on my watch! 😅
@Sassypaws4927 Жыл бұрын
@@chrisgarret3285 Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii was not a promotional video. It was a concert film. Totally different. The promo clip for “Bo Rhap,” as it’s affectionately known far and wide, didn’t just play a huge part in propelling the song to the top of the British charts. It almost single-handedly established the video as the essential marketing tool for promoting a record, both nationally and internationally. Brian May has said that the chief objective of the video was to give the band a promotional device that avoided them having to mime the complex song on Top Of The Pops or elsewhere.
@bethford60072 жыл бұрын
I do think you should also do the official music video for it's classic artistic and historic status. It was the video that sparked the creation of MTV and lead the way to the entire music video industry (not solely but darn near close).

*This was Freddy Mercury's Coming Out song about his sexuality. The killed a Man reference, it was an analogy, the Man was his Father who could not accept him, that's why he sings it to his mum. Contains his suicidal thoughts, religious Beelzebub connotations against what he is, and the final is his acceptance of himself.*

*Queen Recommendations* bonus - check out this crowd in London 65,000 people singing this song while they wait for a concert festival to start that Green Day headlined. Not even a Queen concert and they drowned out the speaker system. SPECTACULAR kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYvRc4Grptata8k crowd perspective kzbin.info/www/bejne/j32cdmSJopqDn80 *Who Wants to Live Forever* - specifically live Friday night (they did 2 nights in 1986 at Wembley which ended up being the last time they performed there). The passion of his voice, power, strength, and vibrato is spectacular. Ironically it was during Saturday's performance Freddie said to the band he couldn't do tours any more (not knowing he was sick but the exhaustion was getting to him). Never showing publicly just how tired he was!!!! WOW kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4DLpn5tlr-Ur9k *You Take My Breath Away* - specifically live at Hyde Park 1976 before it was recorded on an album. It's ultimately just Freddie and really shows his vibrato and his ability to sing with half effort (not a whisper but almost like pushing air out like you do to clean eyeglasses). It's the song that turned me into an obsessed fan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3Oln5huh5tprtE *Teo Torriatte* - the official video has lyrics which is helpful because they sing in Japanese for a portion. The two spots he sings "Be Not Gone" are soooo hauntingly beautiful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZaUaaFof6iqeNU *In the Lap of the Gods* - specifically 1975 live at the Odeon Christmas Eve. I think he actually was suffering with the flu during this (I'd have to fact check that to be sure) but I love the spot ....he was in such a need to bob his head to 2 beats he had to move to the side so he wouldn't hit the mic with his mouth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3-5m5lrZZt7bNU And THIS video being my favorite - *I'm Going Slightly Mad* - the visual is more important than the music and the lyrics are critical!!!!! I could write a dissertation on it. I find it powerful and a show of strength. While we know after the fact he was sick and dying, it wasn't public knowledge at the time and he didn't want us to see that or focus on it so go into it with that in mind. I also think it was his good-bye to the band as it is very therapeutic. It deals with the medicine effects on him and waiting / anticipating death. The very first shot notice the x-ray light and spinning chair kinda like a centrifuge to sepatate the blood in test tubes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZWZmYyVapV3npI I Am a QUEEN fan
