Okay, this is great!! I absolutely love it when vocal coaches react to Queen. I’m listening to every word you’re saying right now!! 😁 As you know there are millions of Queenies out there who will support anything you do QUEEN! You got my vote 👑🎼👑🎼👑🎼. Confession - I’m one of those fans that only listens to Queen and doesn’t listen to other artists doing Queen (Dimash, Angelina Jordon) It feels kinda weird. Freddie is the best!!

Freddie's vocals are amazing, shear raw talent. No one in my opinion could sing all the genres like him, hard rock, progressive, 30s jazz/blues, pop, operatic, which he sung with Montsie. No one could do what he did.

Are you familiar with the operatic duet album, Barcelona, that Freddie made with Montserrat Caballe? It would be FANTASTIC if you could review something from their album. ESPECIALLY... "Excercises In Free Love" and "Ensueno". (If you're not familiar: "Exercises In Free Love" was actually a demo Fred recorded of himself singing the SOPRANO part that he had written for Montsy (that's her nickname), so that she could hear how he intended it to sound. Then, "Ensueno" is the final song - a duet - with Montsy singing the soprano and Fred singing this time in a gorgeous baritone.)

Nice analysis there! Great story and experience to be part of the We Will Rock You cast. Freddie hated doing performances that was similar to studio versions, he did something different every night. He never really did the falsetto parts live in this song, especially in the 80's. Freddie's voice became far more power in the 80's then what it originally was when the song was recorded, so he could just belt it out. He really loved singing in a powerful voice in the 80's. His falsetto was actually always very good, especially during the 80's, he just seem to like powerful vocals more, and he did not really have that powerful voice in Queen's earlier days. He always did a falsetto improvisation every night he performed. I would really like to see your thoughts about it, it think you will really like it, and you might even be quite surprised. Rock in Rio Blues (Impromptu) Queen live Rio 1985 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oF6QkplvoNlmiK8. Freddie wasn't always technical singer but he mostly got the basics right, for him singing was about emotion. He generated his grit mostly through subharmonics so I don't think it that damaging to the vocal folds. Most vocal coaches look at Bohemian Rhapsody or Somebody To Love. I would like to see a vocal coach analyse Ensueno - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIuagH95hdicn6c. A great performance to analyse is You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park 1976 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3Oln5huh5tprtE.

I'd enjoy hearing your critique of Bonnie Tyler's "It's a Heartache" - I've never understood how she makes and maintains that really raspy voice. Thank you. Also, ANYTHING by Meat Loaf. I had the privilege of being on stage with him during his Orlando performance of his StoryTellers Tour. I did the duo part at the beginning of "You Took the Words Right out of my Mouth" - the talking duo began with "On a hot summer night would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?" I'd listened to that song endlessly and at the end where each party says "Yes", Meat Loaf kept saying "Yes" so, being the shy person I am I said, "This is where you're supposed to say - I bet you say that to all the boys." Meat Loaf said, "Don't be telling me how to sing my own songs." Without thinking I said, "Well you're singing it wrong!!!!" The audience was roaring with laughter and Meat Loaf turned to the audience and put out his hands like "What am I going to do with her!" AND a friend got a photo of that moment: drive.google.com/file/d/1xtEE2V8vTsXrduA7YDKJs3cwbjt3GT9_/view?usp=sharing The next morning I woke and and my first thought was, "I told Meat Loaf he was singing his song wrong!!!!!" I got online, contacted one of my best friends and said, "Can you BELIEVE I did that" and she calmly said, "Yes." Great memory. Meat Loaf has a very interesting voice - is he a tenor? Thank you so much - really enjoying your critiques.

The thing with Queen live is, whenever you show live recoedings of them to professionals who see this first time is like "yep, it's masterclass" Freddie, Brian, Taylor and Dean are all across the pros approved. They may not think they are their favorites, but no professional ever would say queen live is mediocre.

What do you mean written by "Elton John"?? The we "will rock you" show was written by Ben Elton, nothing to do with mr Dwight! And Freddie never said Bo Rap came to him in a dream! And as a "vocal coach" why no mention of Freddies technique ie- tone, posture, breathing, placement etc? Or even the notes being sung, In fact no technical vocal insight at all!
