The greatest pleasure was to see this played in its entirety without a single interruption. Wish more reaction folks would follow your lead. Thank you. That aside... yes... this was the level of musical quality that was common throughout the 1970s. We didn't know how good we had it.

To create that harmony of voices, to replicate the opera chorus, they re-recorded the tape 36 times without ever missing a note. In 1975, there were no synthesizers, computers, or autotune. It was all pure talent!

When this came out as a single in 1975 or '76, I stared at the radio in utter disbelief. Ive been in a lot of cover bands in my youth, and NOBODY ever had the guts to try to cover this song! You may be interested to know that the song follows the classical rhapsody form. These guys were no joke! One day, my first wife and I were listening to the album A Night at the Opera, which has this song. As you can imagine, the whole album is just as mind-blowing as this song. When the album was finished, my wife looked at me and said "I wonder if they realized they created such a masterpiece?"

Written by Freddie Mercury. It became no.1 again upon the death of Freddie in November 1991. In 2018, the release of Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody brought the song renewed popularity and chart success worldwide. Proof positive that Queen remains bigger than ever, over 45 years after its release, the band's signature tune “Bohemian Rhapsody” has been officially certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in March 2021. The award represents 10 million or more in sales and stream equivalents in the United States. All the harmonies at the beginning were actually all Freddie harmonising with himself. No easy feat for the 70s.

Rhapsody is a characteristic musical piece of romanticism composed of different thematic parts freely united and without any relationship between them. This song recreates the myth of "Faust" in four blocks. The ballad, where he confesses a murder to his mother, and says goodbye to her. The Opera buffa, where the judgment of his soul is recreated, where angels and demons discuss condemnation or forgiveness. The Rock part, where the Devil makes his plea, saying that he cannot escape his sentence, nor live a life dedicated to evil, and then pretend to betray him, with excuses such as that he has had an unjust life. And the final section, where he reflects, and does not care about condemnation or forgiveness, since he has always lived according to the circumstances or how the wind turned ... (Leaving to free interpretation, according to the lyrics or classical musical language, that Freddie knew a lot about that, if he was convicted or saved)

It cracks me up because everyone seems to think that all four men are harmonising but they are not. It is THE Freddie Mercury just harmonising with himself, just the incredible voice of Freddie. As a Brit you are born knowing this song. The Live Aid concert 1985, 80,000 people in the palm of his hand, playing his favourite instrument, the audience!! No one person had ever or will ever have that incredible ability again. Try Green Day concert Hyde Park 2017, 45 yrs after it was released ad 26 after Freddie left us.

This was popular music in the 70's. Not saying all songs were this epic but there was such freedom in the way bands and artists wrote and performed. Along with the late 60's, it generated the best and most creative music we've ever seen.

Outstanding video, I love it every time. Thank you. Brian May is the guitar player for Queen and has been hailed as one of the best if not THE best rock guitar player of all time, he is just soooooo good, he is my favorite guitar player. He will never admit to being the best, he still holds several of the greats as better than himself but I for one think he is being too modest in that idea. Besides being really great at playing his guitar, he actually built his guitar with his father when he was a teenager, with stuff they had laying around the house. His guitar is unique and has a sound that no other guitar does or will. You can now buy a Brian May guitar, and it is close to this one but nothing sounds like Brian's own Red Special. Queen is a band that the more you listen to them, the more you understand that they just kept progressing, never doing the same thing twice. All four members wrote songs for the band and all had number one hits though each of them is musically very different from the others. Each member of this band is rated at the top in his instrument.

I agree that Queen excels in their live performances but I always recommend listening to the studio version first and then checking out the live version. Unfortunately you will not find any liver performances of Queen after 1986 and you will have to either react to the lyric videos or music video (if one exists). You will also see that Queen cannot be easily categorized as a certain type of band that plays only one genre of music. The four members of Queen had different tastes in music and you will see that they did rock, southern rock, blues, rock operas, stadium rock, folk, etc…. Please include “Who Wants To Live Forever” in your lists of songs to react to. The 1986 performance from Budapest is fantastic but the one from Wembley is also very good. Queen at Live Aid is fantastic and wonderful and shows the band dynamic, and Freddie's talent. It is 20 minutes but goes by fast. Check it out.

Hi Joy! First time on your channel and I really enjoyed your reaction, so you can be sure this won't be my last visit! I have plenty of song recommendations for you, but to begin with I will just say you need to react to the beautiful "Love Of My Life"! Someone suggested Rio, which is great, but imo the video quality is not there, so I would recommend the 1986 version from Wembley Stadium. I'll enjoy any one you cover however, so up to you!! Best wishes with your channel!!

The apotheosis of jazz harmonies . Freddie Mercury , except he's mighty voice was a brilliant pianist and composer . This song is a jazz masterpiece ! RIP Freddie!

If you haven't already, please watch the audience all singing this song simultaneously before a Green Day concert. Incredible!

Listen to Pentatonix they do a lot of queen and a lot of other things too that you may not have heard. They are an acapella group and they are amazing more than amazing. They blew the top off of music and they don't use instruments. You just won't even have words for them. Their vocals have such range
