That’s really sad. I really believe that it’s important to teach the new generations history bc there’s a lot of lessons to learn from history. Like I like watching a lot of the old Looney Tunes shorts & one in particular catches my eyes simply bc of its historical reference to the Civil War : “Southern Fried Rabbit”. A lot of people think it’s racist bc Bugs Bunny sneaks into the South border disguised as a black slave. I thought it was funny like it was at the time it was first time it was released. A lot of people don’t realize as well is that the old cartoons are mostly political like the newspaper comics. Then people today are trying to erase important moments that seem to be “too sensitive or unimportant” to today’s society which I think is ridiculous. Like nobody wants to talk about Andrew Jackson bc he was the one who launched the Trail of Tears so they automatically think of him as a bad guy & forget that he defended our country in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815, which was the final battle for the War of 1812. And they don’t teach that in the classrooms anymore

Her Majesty was a wonderful, thoughtful and devoted monarch, may she rest in peace. My condolences to His Majesty King Charles and the royal family on the loss of their mother. May God bless them all. American here from Wisconsin. Read through some of the comments. I presume the 600-year-old tradition that was broken was not playing "God Save the Queen" that day and substituting "The Star-Spangled Banner" for it. The music for "The Star-Spangled Banner" is an English tune credited to John Stafford Smith, who wrote "To Anacreon in Heaven" sometime in the mid 18th century. Francis Scott Key wrote lyrics to sing over this tune. The song "America" (My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty...) uses the tune that "God Save the Queen" is played to.

No need to open a museum, they display gowns, jewels and outfits of note at exhibitions held at the Royal Palaces for public to see. Usually held at Kensington or Buckingham palace.

This so-called 'Queen' leaves behind a legacy of denial of treacherous plunder from nations, killing of innocent, unarmed civilians through inhuman laws and staying defiant on the crimes against humanity that her Empire perpetrated. She must be remembered in the light of her greedy, selfish actions and not some romanticized, redundant title. May those who perished because of her family's greed find peace. May humanity be spared from such characters in future. Americans and American media should be ashamed of themselves for glorifying this family with racist and colonialist history. On one hand they fight for black civil rights and on the other hand they glorify racism and colonialism. Hypocrites. They should be opening museums about sufferings and plunder caused to the colonies by this evil empire..

Why not? The tune to "The Star Spangled Banner" was originally BRITISH. The song was written as "To Anacreon in Heaven" by wealthy men who belonged to an amateur song writers' club.

Do you actually think LaraTrump would know that?
@RichardAugustMatthew19Man2 жыл бұрын
@@patriciaeddy7629 who cares if Lara Trump knows that fact? Most average Americans make the movie "Idiocracy" the DOCUMENTARY it is truly becoming. We live in an "America" where people cannot follow simple instructions, read signs, or obey rules. We live in a country where gross irresponsibility is rewarded with cash and prizes while hard work and telling the truth are rewarded with job dismissals, shunning, or even violence.

there's another British anthem, ' Land of Hope and Glory' i think it is that ive seen Americans confused over because its also the tune to some American patriotic song, just diff words.

Yeah I'm about sick of hearing people complain about the Whitehouse flying the Union Jack to honor the lady. I don't like England either, but they are somewhat friends, and showed us the same respect when we were attacked. Pride in the way people are displaying it is a sin.
