My dad is a musician, I showed him the footage of the amplifier blowing up, he told me that it wasn’t an amp explosion at all, there’s a box looking thing that bands use for reverb, (for guitars I think) and when the box is moved, it makes a loud sound, such as the sound you hear during you take my breath away, someone must have moved it backstage, which I guess would explain the lack of echo after the noise, I hope this helps.
@metallica-fan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sounds reasonable, especially how the noise didn’t really have a proper fade out but rather a quick disappearing sound…

OK- To be clear- pitch correction is NOT autotune. Pitch correction is a tool on the soundboard that can isolate a sharp, or mistake musically to where it should be. Auto tune is when you set what key you want your song to be sung or played in, and no matter how many mistakes are made, Auto tune corrects it. No Queen was NOT using Auto tune.
@callejarvholm2 жыл бұрын
Yes! And pitch correction back in the day was also not a computer doing it, it was done by ear by skilled musicions and engineers. So there’s still skill involved

First example with Brian is legit and that he was out of tune. "Only one" was in tune, he ran out of air - they blended in the end of "one". "Change my life" also in tune, but substituted an end with more vibrato. "destroy my mind" they substituted a better take. "control and shiver" sang a half-step tag on "control", but they again picked a stronger take (connnntrol) "whisper in my ear"... again, stronger take. "Pitch correction" is not happening here, and was only happening with an Eventide Harmonizer, starting around that year. These are flown in overdubs probably from a different night. What is the point of this?
@edgarferrer80844 жыл бұрын
I'm sure that SOME of them are pitch corrected. It sounds very similar on many of the differences. So I don't think that they're different takes. Maybe overdubs, but surely not replaced with different takes.
@m1co294 Жыл бұрын
1) There are only 4 nights in the Summer Gigs tour, my bet is that they weren't recorded because they were warm-ups, and they possibly can't use vocals from a show during the Day At The Races tour cause Freddie sings the song very differently there (i.e. he sings the song in chest voice, as opposed to the more falsetto-intensive variations we can listen to in Edinburgh and HP) and even if they did we'd have already noticed cause we have a truckload of ADATR audience recordings out in the wild and to be frank Freddie wasn't really in good shape in most of those shows. 2) What do you mean by "takes"? QPL already have the master tapes, I can place my bet that they don't flutter nor distort cause, well, they're the master tapes. Multi-track master tapes. They definitely don't have "stronger takes" cause well they already have the strongest and definitive takes. We also have an audience recording of Hyde Park. Go listen to it.
