This wasn't a live performance, but an extremely well done lipsynhcing! Top Of The Pops was a very popular British musical televison show between the 60s and the early 2000s, but all performances were playback. If you listen to it attentively once again, you will notice, that Freddie was harmoninsing with himself. Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, etc. influenced the Queen's music and Queen had the same impact on subsequent musicians. This song brought Freddie a privileged British musical award and he won another one for the Bohemian Rhapsody as well. I agree Freddie was a great story teller.

Second hit after 'Seven Seas of Rhye' and just before the behemoth that is 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. They had a hit before 'Bohemian Rhapsody' called 'Now I'm Here' but it's rarely played (probably understandable). I believe they only actually had 3 number 1 hits in the UK in their own right but had a few others in collaboration with other artists. For me 'Killer Queen' is one of their most original and best songs. Glad you liked it.

I love your reaction videos! Queen and Van Halen are my two all-time favorites, so I get a lot of joy seeing you two discovering their greatness. That said, there are a million great Queen songs for you to check out; Bring Back That Leroy Brown - you guys can REALLY see how much Queen defied genres Teo Torriatte - Brian plays Kyoto, and half the song is in Japanese! You Take My Breath Away - Probably the most beautiful song they ever did. Who Wants To Live Forever - Brian wrote it for the movie, The Highlander. Very poignant after Freddie's death These Are The Days Of Our Lives - Last video Freddie made before he passed. VERY sad. Show Must Go On - Chillingly good song, practically written and recorded by Freddie on his deathbed. The real key to listening to Queen is to listen to albums in their entirety (a must with many great bands, like Pink Floyd). They'll hit you with a tremendous variety of styles in under an hour.

Radio GaGa is one of my favorite Queen songs. Would love to see your reaction to that one. Should do the live version from Live Aid

they are everything. if you want some hardrock you can find it, if you want some pre-metal you can find it, even if you want some soul or dance or funk you can find it with queen. try „was it all worth it“, „white man“, „gimme the prize“, „soul brother“, „mustapha“, „all dead, all dead“, „seaside rendevouz“, „sail away sweet sister“, „it‘s late“, „back chat“, „death on two legs“, „fight from the inside“, „loser in the end“, „dear friends“.............and on and on.....

"Somebody To Love", live in M9ontreal 1981. Probably the best live performance ever.

This was their first real hit. The performance is on Top of the Pops and they had to lip sync which they hated. I think it's a fun time capsule though...the clothes, the song, everything. Love it!! Play Queen Loud!

Thanks for this one. This was a hit when I was a kid, and I remember listening to it on crappy little radios. I remember thinking "this is really different & cool ... and I really like that guitar ..." Still a favorite years later.

You’re right, there was no band ever or since like Queen. At heart, they were rockers, but their sound was, as BJ said, “It’s Queen.” Freddie Mercury was the consummate front man with a magisterial 4 octave range, and the rest of the band was spot on.

Thanks for doing this. Queen is unique from the get-go and this is unique as a Queen song. Very cool
