I was a 14 year old tourist in London in 1988 and my uncle told me wave wave so I waved at this old lady in a car and she waved back to me. It was the Queen Mother!!! God rest her soul!!

Did she send you a card from there?

Because my uncle who was giving me a tour said "wave wave"!! I asked him "who is this granny"? and he told me the Queen's mother!! I said "does the Queen has a mother? she is a granny herself!!" Through a 14year olds eyes the Queen was always...old and having a mother still alive seemed completely weird!! I didn't think anything much at the time though..

Thank you for providing this video. I am an american and a longtime admirer of the Queen Mother. I've studied her history thoroughly over the past few years and I feel as though I know her. Another great witness to the significant historical events and individuals of the twentieth century has passed on. I don't know how her daughter, Queen Elizabeth endured the grief of losing both her sister and her mother within such a short period of time.

I am an African American, born in the year 1970. Do not know of the royals but what I see through the lenses of the media. However, the late Queen Mother had such a charming and compassionate look to her face. Everytime I see her I felt a connection to her. She seemed approachable, down-to-earth, kind, and warm.

He could see I’ve had no sleep since his mother died and he gave me some good advice before his mother’s funeral. King Charles broken royal protocol to hug me since I was one of his number one fans and I was lifted back over the barriers afterwards.
