This is the first time I've seen this version. I didn't know they did one without Freddie in it. I'm torn, because I love both of them. I love seeing Freddie in the one. But In this one you see more of the guys, especially John Decon. That look he gives the camera at 2:17 made my heart skip a beat. I've always had a huge crush on him, still do! There are a few shots of John that you can see a slight smile on his face that shows he really loves playing. There is a video of the making of this video. There is a shot of John that just breaks your heart. It's in between takes and he looks so lost, almost scared. It's hard to put into words. It really made me tear up. You just wish you were there to give him a hug.

John wasn't that confident with his singing, that's usually his reason for not releasing his solo album but there are a few occasions life where he can be heard and he's not bad! But I do think it would have been nice if he'd done a verse on this one or let me live...

This was written for Bryan's solo but they decided to make it as Queen's single. Roger just changed some lyrics to make it for Freddie M.

@@nanamst435 I think Brian said he wrote it not long after Freddie died and sent it to Roger to see what thought but Roger didn't listen to it right away ( I forget how much time went by). But when he did he loved it and Brian said it should be a recorded as a queen song, not just Brian or just Rogers. There is a video of the making of the song video that they explain it, much better than I am doing lol

Brian said in documentary that it was for Freddie and Princess Diana who died in1997. If you look at the beginning of the video, there is a glass of champagne on the piano. They said that Freddie used to toast the fans at certain concerts. That glass of champagne was to toast Freddie.
