Rudi Dolezal (the regisseur) spoke about making this video. He mentioned that everything was same as in the old times: room, staff, just Freddie was missing. And after the work was done and they all met at the dinner, several people mentioned, they were looking at the door during the day, expecting Freddie storming into the room saying: "Darlings, it was just a joke." I'm so glad they made this song.

I had managed not to be in tears while listening to this song. But reading this comment, dang! the waterworks just erupted. Oh my poor sad heart .. missing Freddie! We kinda have that perception, you know. When you lose someone so dear to your heart, the realization seem to sink in way too slow and there are moments when you expect that person appear and be how they were when they were still living. Though I never knew Freddie personally, somehow, thru his music, he has become part of my existence.

Debbie Butler Same for me...did you also happen to catch the hurt shown by "Freddie" when Mary introduced her boyfriend/husband? It was clear to see he felt or thought she would always be his "Freddie's"? I wondered if that was true to life....when they tried so hard to keep it as close to real as possible...just a thought.
@debbiebutler4566 жыл бұрын
@@terriburlile6985 yes, he seemed so hurt. From my teen years following Queen, I believe this was very true. Revisiting their music now has given me a completely different view of Freddie Mercurys life and the immense talent he was. It makes me so sad he left the world so young. In todays time, he'd still be here. He will live in the hearts of his fans❤
@terriburlile69856 жыл бұрын
Debbie Butler Agreed...the movie was a intimate look into not only Freddie Mercury but the band as a whole. Honestly KZbin opened the door into the life of Queen for me. A band is a strong enough word... They were a family, that's what made the band & how it was able to impact the world the way it did. Is still doing. I'm thankful for being open minded enough when I was younger to still appreciate the music at the 1st wisperings of him being gay. I remember saying it sucked...only because of the crush I had on him lol. As with life & age things change. Now I have a huge appreciation for the rest of the 'family' and how well they've aged. I rank Roger Taylor right up there with Sam Elliot, Tom Selleck & Sean Connery...they're looks have aged like a fine wine...and are so pretty to look at lol. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts & insights. Too many people seem to run nasty at the mouth on social media. Its nice to share the positive whenever possible!

The last time Queen were really Queen for me. Having said that, I don't despise the things they got involved in next, without John. Some were good (Q+AL), most were bad (Q+Fife, Robbie Williams, Pepsi commercials), but they have the right to carry on. "No One But You" closes their real discography for me though. Obviously, the "new" songs included on "Queen Forever" also count, however, technically they are older songs.

What a ridiculous statement. How could they be " really Queen " without Freddie?
@krzysztofmilewski47428 жыл бұрын
Call it ridiculous, but if you look at this song as their final tribute to Freddie (which it was) and considering it features all the surviving members, it's not so ridiculous to me. There are other Queen songs which don't feature Freddie as well. And most of all, it just feels like Queen. The last time it felt so to me.
