They are actually amazing and their body of work is timeless. Freddie's voice is beyond beauty. Brian's guitar work is superb. Roger's drums are solid. John carries it with the bass. Still sounds fresh today.

Yes Freddie was a generous person...always said he was the lead singer of the band, not the leader..in the studio. they would always argue like hell because they were all perfectionists...Roger and Freddie were the closest...Roger has a giant statue of Freddie in his backyard... Freddie was kinda shy off stage...he was very generous with his money -one time he saw on the news, that a family was going to lose their house (forget the reason why) and he got his secretary to donate a cheque, anonymously, to pay for the house....Another story a woman saw Freddie in a hotel lobby once and went up to him to tell him that her daughter was a big fan of his. He was very humble and thanked her. He then went into the gift store and got her a key chain and had it engraved: love Freddie Mercury...What rock star is like that and loved his fans that much....he always appreciated that they were his meal ticket (as he says in the song: We are the Champions: " You gave fame and fortune and everything that goes with it, I thank you all") when he sings that part the fans always appreciate it by clapping or shouting

I absolutely love this performance. Roger (drummer - time to learn their names now that you’ve done several) said this song was the hardest physically for him to do and there’s an excellent video showing exactly how hard he works, it’s the Roger Cam at this same Wembley concert. It’s the same song and performance, but the footage is solely of Roger and with a good view at the same time of Deacy (bass player) bopping away. You need to pay attention to him, he’s always vibing to the music. So for me now, as I’ve just got home from work, I’ve got three more of your videos to enjoy. We’re going to turn you into a bonafide fan yet. I understand you’re trying to boost you’re subscribers, and you’re succeeding but our challenge now is to make you a “Queenie”. White Queen at Hammersmith or Who Wants to Live Forever live in Budapest soon please?

Roger Taylor, drums, Dental college. Brian May, lead Guitar, Doctorate in astrophysics. He is consulting by NASA. Freddy is considered the greatest rock front man of all time. Brian May was just voted all time best rock guitarist. They were unreal.

The line in this song, “down in the city just Hoople and me” refers to the band Mott the Hoople who tapped Queen to come to warm them up on Mott’s 1974 American tour. Huge favor because making it in the US market was essential for bands back then to break into the big time. So, yes, believe it or not, Queen’s first intro live to American audiences was as Mott the Hoople’s warm up band. And that’s the first of 3x I saw Queen live, in Memphis, on 4/20/74. A few dates later Brian May (the lead guitarist) came down with hepatitis and Queen had to drop out of the rest of the tour. So I was a lucky kid. Got a twofer that night. Needless to say, Queen was never anything but sellout headliners. So this song has always been a special favorite for me. Love your reactions to Freddie and Queen. Keep them coming!

Yep. Queen returned the favor, too, by tapping Thin Lizzy to warm them up on their first American tour as headliners. Also unbelievably, when Queen had to leave Mott’s tour they were replaced by Aerosmith. Gotta give Hoople mad credit for picking bands that would become legends.
