What wonderful memories of my former life, always brings me to tears when I see this beautiful machine fly high above the world and always took me safely home again. That thrust, that noise, that sheer joy of reaching above the clouds is a wonder of human intelligence and knowhow. The skill of the pilots and of the friendly cabin crew, how lucky to be alive and have experienced that.

@blackship23808 жыл бұрын
It is because these engines are smaller than the a380 so it has to spin fast to power the plane unlike in a380, trent 900's are bigger than rb211 so it doesn't have to spin fast just to make the a380 fly so it produce less noise even in takeoff. Just think of the ge90, it is very big that the fan section itself is enough to power the 777 so it runs almost silently because it doesn't have to spin fast.
@ag63713 жыл бұрын
@@blackship2380 The Trent 900 is quieter by the thickness of the A380's fuselage (the same reason why the outer window appears smaller than the inner window)

If you don't believe me, you can check my channel. List of Airlines that fly A380's in and out of Los Angeles International Airport as follows, 1. China Southern 2. British Airways 3. Asiana Airlines 4. Qantas 5. Singapore 6. Korean Air 7. Emirates

Scott Mayfield Sure, that might be on paper. As far as airlines flying new 777 are Eva Air and Philippines Airlines at Los Angeles International. Emirates change their 777 last year for a A380, British Change one 747 last year, and on May they added another A380. And just recently Asiana change one of their 747 for another A380.

The RB211 is the same engine that powered the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. I wonder if there was any difference between the version that powered the TriStar and the version that powered the 747-400.
@skaterkid9018 жыл бұрын
The 211 is a family of engines. There are a number of different variants to the engine, most notably the -22B (as per the TriStar), the -524s (as per the 747 and later the 767), and the -535 (as per the 757 and Tu-204). The RB211s in this lovely video are the later standard 524s with better internals and wide-chord fan blades, whereas the ones on the TriStar are old 22Bs - although I think some later ones got early 524s - with clappered fan blades and the capability to make a lovely racket as they fly around. The RB211 is the predecessor to the Trent family, and some of the Trent architecture found its way back into the RB211 series (most notably the Trent 700 HP system found in later 524s - the engines features in this video are probably fitted with the Trent-engineered systems). HTH :)

ok, folks, some physics: the cam is mounted fix (rel. to frame of window) During take-off roll the wingtip is hanging down. At rotation the partial lift is increased to a lift bigger than the aircraft's weight so it can leave the ground - and this can be observed if you SWITCH BACK AND FORTH between ~ 0:20 and 1:20+, note the wingtip at least 8-10ft higher (ref. windowframe) as the gross weight is bending the outer part of the wing upwards. Take aim and note this on your next flight, on airbuses even more accentuated.
